Just a very casual outfit for errands on a Saturday. I tried to punch it up with some bright accessories.

 

Totally off topic- my otherwise fierce courageous beautiful shephard is afraid of thunder and lightning. It has stormed for the last two nights and she has barked, whined, and yelped for hours during the night. I'm so sleepy right now I can barely type. Any advice?

After a two to three year search, I found a pair of white pants and I have put them to good use this summer. They have been in frequent rotation. I paired them here with the JCrew Factory cutaway top in emerald pool. I had the shirt on my wish list for a long time and finally purchased it during a sale last month. I added a blazer for the office because my work environment is very conservative and I was afraid some might frown on the back.

Here is another look for the sleeveless blazer that I had to copy. This one I was able to turn into a work appropriate outfit by swapping jeans for trousers. Luckily the top was already in my closet and the vest gave it new life as it has not been worn in a while.

I have been stuck on blue and white for a while now. Every outfit I put together in my head has blue and white, and maybe another color, but blue and white. I have to force myself to move on so I'm not wearing the same color every day.  In spite of my blue and white obsession, these jeans have not seen enough wear, so I obliged my inner self and wore them last week to an appointment.

I was happy to see eyelet back as a trend this spring and summer because I was already set. I have owned this skirt for several years as part of a matching suit. The jacket doesn't see much wear anymore, but the skirt is still a great piece. It was perfect to pair with two other trendy items- chambray and a statement necklace. Sometimes it's too much to have too many trends in one outfit, but I think this works.

I had not worn this skirt all year until Saturday a week ago. I  wore it to run some errands and visit some folks at the hospital. In fact, I have not worn a maxi skirt all year. I'm not believing that as I love to wear them when it's hot. You know you have too many clothes when you have things that aren't getting worn.

 

Here are two other ways I've worn the skirt. I'll probably never wear it the first way again, but I like the second look. I'm also considering wearing it with a small stripe- what do you think? Can this crazy pattern handle a striped top?

After two days of wearing attire for work that strictly suits function and not fashion at all, I was ready to wear something dressy and ladylike last week. While this isn't the most flattering outfit, it came together quickly and with ease, and I felt good in it all day. Isn't that what matters sometimes? Which do you classify it as? Sleeveless blazer or vest? Either one works for me, but I picture a sleeveless blazer as a dressier item than some vests may be. Ironically, the look I love most for this garment I'm wearing with this outfit is a casual look with a tank and jeans. Too bad I can't wear that to work.
