Hello! Happy hump day! I've pulled out this thrifted silk maxi skirt for its yearly appearance. I really do like it and should wear it more, but I'm just getting around to it. I wore it last year here, a little more dressed up. I decided to dress down this time with a denim vest and play with color with the jewelry.

Do you have those occasional wear pieces that you just can't let go of?

Super quick post because I'm running late. I had an awesome but busy weekend.
I have always worn this skirt in a super casual way before and never thought of wearing it with heels or "dressed up." Inspiration came from Megan's Moda. I reversed the striped piece and went with a striped tee and solid maxi skirt. I loved the result. I didn't wear the floppy straw hat but tried it on for kicks while taking pictures.

Here are two other casual ways I've worn this skirt:

The unworn list

I have a list of unworn items in my closet. Some are new items and some are older items that I didn't wear last year. You know how they say if you haven't worn it in a year, it needs to go. I struggle with that because I can't wear some of these items to work, so they are for weekend or Sunday only. That's only 52 opportunities. Cut that down to about half for each season and the opportunities are less. That means I don't really need some of these pieces, but I love them anyway so they hang around (pun intended).

This silk maxi skirt was on the list. I picked it up for $5 at our local thrift store last summer. LAST SUMMER- oops. I didn't wear it until recently. Don't let the bright color throw you. It will pair nicely with lots of neutrals, including chambray and leopard. I started with grey. This silk tee was a clearance purchase a few years ago and has seen a good bit of recent wear. I seem to rotate through things that way. This tee is one of those great items that can be worn for work or play.

Hope you have a great weekend. Linking up here:

I have seen these knot tees on a couple of other bloggers, so I caved and ordered a couple. This tee, along with this maxi skirt, is a close to wearing pajamas as you can get while still looking pulled together. I wore this to church a couple of weeks ago and wore it all day long. So comfortable. I had gotten away from maxis dresses and skirts, but have renewed an interest in this this summer.

Worn July 19, 2014

I had not worn this skirt all year until Saturday a week ago. I  wore it to run some errands and visit some folks at the hospital. In fact, I have not worn a maxi skirt all year. I'm not believing that as I love to wear them when it's hot. You know you have too many clothes when you have things that aren't getting worn.

Here are two other ways I've worn the skirt. I'll probably never wear it the first way again, but I like the second look. I'm also considering wearing it with a small stripe- what do you think? Can this crazy pattern handle a striped top?

Do you like handmade accessories? I've been adding some things back to my etsy shop.  Check out the earrings bracelet, and brooches I have listed.

Denim jacket and a maxi/ Style Swap

This week  for Style Swap I chose to swap a look from Danielle at Goodwillista focusing on a denim jacket and maxi skirt.

It's pretty much a piece for piece copy except for the necklaces. I tried a little necklace layering and wore a cross necklace my sweet hubby gave me for Valentine's Day and a longer "wing" necklace.

I finally gave in and purchased a denim jacket with a gift card. At least two fashion magazines have said it's a must have spring piece. I've always hesitated because I don't think I'll get that much wear out of it, but I keep pinning looks with denim jackets, so I decided it was time to bite the bullet and go for it.

Maxi skirt

Shirt- Loft; skirt- Belk;

Sorry about the wonky text today. I'm away from my regulary computer and working with what I've got. This is another take on this colorful maxi skirt. I like this version better than the first time I wore it.
