Neon maxi skirt
Vest- Old Navy option
necklace- made by me option
Hello! Happy hump day! I've pulled out this thrifted silk maxi skirt for its yearly appearance. I really do like it and should wear it more, but I'm just getting around to it. I wore it last year here, a little more dressed up. I decided to dress down this time with a denim vest and play with color with the jewelry.
Do you have those occasional wear pieces that you just can't let go of?

DIY tassel jewlery
I have been admiring all the tassel jewelry that is on trend right now, but I couldn't really justify the purchase when it wouldn't really fit in with my work attire. Then one day I popped into Michaels and noticed some tassels and colorful beads on clearance. I already had other beads and all the tools for making jewelry so I decided make my own. The bracelets are really easy to make- just string your beads and tassels on stretch magic cord and tie it in a knot. Glue your knot and you are done.
I also made another set of stacked bead tassel bracelets and a beaded wrap charm bracelet while I was at it. You may have seen those on Instagram. The wrap bracelet is for sale in my Poshmark closet.
I love how these bright colors pop against my white cold shoulder top. I know that "off shoulder" is having a moment now, but I've decided the cold shoulder top is more my jam. I'm just a bit picky about tops being too flowy and almost returned this one. I'm glad I didn't because I really like it with the fitted skirt. It will work well with skinny jeans too, and I can probably tuck it into shorts.

Worn: March 25, 2012
Black and white with a pop of color! Polka dots! Some of my favorite things.
The necklace is made from a jersey material and the shirt has chiffon rosettes. The shirt was a purchase but just as easily could be a DIY.

Just for fun
Since I cannot get a photo taken every single day, I know there may come a time when I run out of photos to post. I thought it would also be fun to add some other stuff to this blog besides photos of my outfits ( and the mixing of other material will make the outfit photos go further.) I'm going to make Fridays "just for fun". I may share things I'd like to have or beauty tips I've found- beauty or fashion related, but not an outfit.
For the first Friday of my new series, I'm sharing a diy eye make up remover I shared over on my craft blog.
I found this tutorial at adelynSTONE one day for DIY eye makeup remover. So I tried it out.
Here are the ingredients:
1 C water
1½ TBSP Baby Shampoo (tear free)
⅛ TSP Baby Oil (Cocunut Oil or Olive Oil)
I poured mine into my old bottle of remover (and the leftovers into a small glass bowl with a lid.)
I'm pleased with the results.
I know that some say not to use baby oil on your eyelids. There is such a small amount in this it is barely noticable.
Have you got any tips to share?
