Navy dot top- Work to weekend

I'm featuring a navy polka dot top for work to weekend looks. I used to almost exclusively wear this top for work, but decided to use it for some casual looks in my GYPO Spring Capsule.

Gives me butterflies

I've had this Old Navy butterfly print top for a few years now, and I was itching to wear it before summer ended. It's one of my favorites.

Old Navy haul- try on session

Happy Saturday! Instead of my usual round up I thought I'd share my recent Old Navy haul with you in the form of a try on session. Excuse the dirty mirror, messy room and wet hair. This is real life.

First up is the crochet lace yoke shift dress. It's a cute dress in a perfect color for fall. It's thin but perfect for our warm falls. My only complaint is that it's tight under the arms and has a weird fit due to the crochet top going over part of the sleeve. I'm wearing a small but might try a medium if my store has one. Other than the underarms, it fits well.

Here's the back and a close up of the texture of the top.

Hello there sweatshirt- Definitely a keeper. Super soft, not too thick and not too slouchy. Wearing a small.

Floral midi skirt- yes I layered over the dress. I wish it had pockets but it's a cute skirt with lots of potential.

Flutter sleeve waisted midi- it's longer than a midi on me. I ordered it in a regular because petite wa not available. This dress is lined and I love the sleeves. I'm undecided about the length. It would probably look better on me the length of the above skirt.

Open front tassel hem cardigan- small. The sleeves are snug on this and they don't layer well over other tops but might work well with tanks and sleeveless tops. I'm on the fence about it. The tassels tend to get tangled together too.

Happy Shopping!

Cut it out

You may have noticed a trend with my outfits lately featuring scarves and a few skirts here and there. It was too hot to wear winter scarves and blanket scarves in the winter, but our late winter and early spring has been perfect for light weight spring scarves, so I'm getting my fill now. I've also had these jacket earrings on repeat and these cut out flats have been my go to as well. I purchased them  three years ago at Target but they did not get the attention they deserve until now.

There are three more days left to the Nsale, and I'd be a terrible blogger and totally remiss if I didn't go ahead and show you this outfit while you can still get these pieces on sale. I really am in love with the skirt. I can't wait to wear this again with a mustard cardigan in the fall or later with tights and boots. For now, I'll have to stick with just a simple blazer and loafers for the office. This skirts is a nice quality weight and it has pockets! Did I tell you that it has pockets? Gotta love a skirt or dress with pockets.

Do you have weekend plans? We don't.  We are just going to keep working on the never ending "to do list", some of it housekeeping and some of it personal projects.

Happy Fourth of July! As many of our freedoms come under attack, I pray that we take a moment to truly appreciate what freedom we do have and how we got here. I hope each of you has a happy and safe day.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet so I can get on with this last day off work. We are having a new refrigerator delivered as the old one makes a terrible noise and has cracked inside. We decided to take advantage of a sale and replace it before it completely dies. No new outfits for me, my sales shopping involved a refrigerator. Yay- life.

If you're looking for some more ideas on what to wear later today, check out Saturday's post with patriotic outfits made from mostly sale items.

Cobalt, chartreuse and a link up

Blazer- Dress Barn (old)  option  option  option
blouse- TJMaxx (old)  option  option   option
skirt- JCPenney (old)  option  option
shoes- Payless  option  option
necklace- Banana Republic (old)  option  option

I hope everyone got off to a good start this week. Today I'm sharing a recent work outfit that was a little out of my comfort zone. I decided that cobalt would pair nicely with chartreuse and black, even though there is absolutely no cobalt in this skirt. I love to play with colors and I really liked how this turned out. I used the shoes and the necklace to tie it all together. What color combinations have you tried our recently?

See how I've worn this skirt before - 4 ways here, here, and patterned mixed here

I'm also cohosting the Confident Twosday link up with Laura from I Do deClaire today. I love Laura's blog and the way she mixes thrifty with trendy pieces, all with a focus on what makes you feel confident. That's what I think fashion should be about- feeling good about what you wear, not just wearing something because it's the "in" thing. Be sure to follow her for some great outfit ideas.  I hope you will join us and link up below.
