I bought this sweater back in November, but it took me until just before Christmas to get around to wearing it. That just show how much I NEEDED it, huh? In my defense, weekend wear is just that for me, weekend wear, so the opportunities are limited. This is a great soft cozy sweater, but still airy with the bell sleeves for our mild climate. It was in the 70s right up to Christmas here, and even yesterday! I should have shared this sweater earlier because it has sold out online. (It is still available in plus size). I've linked up some similar options above. Anyone else loving chenille?

These photos remind me why I'm doing Whole30- to slim up some. Well, that shouldn't be the focus of  Whole30 but it's usually an added benefit. I'm doing Whole30 to get rid of sugar cravings and be more disciplined about my food choices. I'm doing it to get my energy back.  We are just over 10 days in now, so I'd thought I'd share five thoughts on Whole30 for today's Five for Friday.

1. Whole30 is not for sissys! Nope, you have got to have some willpower and resolve to do this. I had to work an hour over last night, and I came home super hungry. Part of me wanted to grab the box of  chocolate rice chex cereal in the pantry and have my fill. But.... there is that thing about sugar and grains. Thankfully, I had a meal plan and just knowing what I was going to cook helped me look beyond those and to that healthy meal.

2. You have got to meal plan. If you don't, you may get caught in a situation like I did last night and eat any old thing because you are hungry. Planning and prepping ahead will get you a long way. Also having a plan for emergencies are helpful too. I didn't have anything to take for a lunch one day either. But I knew that I'd go get a salad from Larry's and some fruit and nuts from the grocery store to get me through. Without predetermining that, I may have had the regular sub and chips. Oops.

3. Whole30 is a lot of work. I'm not going to lie. If you ever decide to do this, plan to cook daily and wash lots of dishes. That's the part the hubby hates- all of those dishes.

4. I use this as an opportunity to try new recipes. This time around, I'm trying the easy ones. I mentioned last week that I bought The Whole30 Fast and Easy Cookbook.

5. It's totally worth it. I'll be honest and say that I have not been totally compliant every day. There was added sugar in our organic tomato soup the first night, added sugar in my organic BBQ sauce one night, and I've chewed gum some days. That SUGAR thing! Why the heck does an organic product need added sugar? In spite of all this, I still crave sugar less than when we started and have more energy already. And from past experiences, I just know it's totally worth it.

Have you ever done Whole30, or are you doing it now? I'd love to hear about.
