Closet creation

Blazer- Belk option
blouse- JCPenney
pants- Belk option
shoes- TJMaxx option

I used to wear this blouse with this mint blazer, but the blazer was really beginning to show some wear so I replaced it with this one.  I've been challenging myself to wear things in my closet that haven't been worn in a while and this shirt was up. However it doesn't go with the new mint blazer  because the color is a different shade. I took a quick look around my closet and realized the blouse would also coordinate with teal. And that's how this outfit was created.

I don't normally post on Saturday, but I'm trying to stay current, and I missed yesterday so you get a post on Saturday. Hope you are having a great weekend.

A little lemon

Blazer/pants- JCPenney option option
option blouse- Loft
scarf- Cato option option
shoes- Lifestride via TJMaxx option
Worn April 17, 2014

I've been trying to add a few pastels and spring pieces to my wardrobe. I've never had much of  Spring wardrobe, just lots of year round pieces. We tend to skip spring here anyway and go straight to summer. One of my new additions is this Loft shirt. I was afraid I might be too washed out with the shirt and suit so I added the scarf. I like it, but it's not my everday look.

I'm now questioning the black belt and shoes. Black seems to clash a little. I picked them more for comfort based on the work I had to to that day, but if I had a more relaxed day, I'd go for a different pair. But I'm curious- what color shoes would you pair with it? I'd love to know in the comments or for you to leave links to some suggestions.

Pastel pink midi

purse- Forever21
shoes- TJMaxx option
necklace/earrings- Cato

This was my Easter outfit, so I'm jumping ahead and sharing it today. It was not intentionally my Easter outfit, but it just worked out to be. Midi skirts and a peplum have been on my radar for a while and I recently added both to my closet. I thought these two pieces would pair nicely so I held out until Easter to wear them.  You will be seeing them again.

Chartreuse print skirt- four ways

Blazer- Dress Barn option
blouse- JCPenney option option
skirt- JCPenney
shoes- Target option
earrings- gift
Worn April 15, 2014

I bought this blouse and skirt about a year apart but being that they are both the Worthington line from JCPenney, they work great together. The skirt is embellished with tulle and chain, so no necklace is needed. I've had these shoes for a while too, but I'm happy to see they are still in style this spring.

Here are three other ways I've worn this skirt:

Red lips

Cardigan- Old Navy option
skirt- thrifted option
shoes- Belks similar
clutch- Target option
Worn April 13, 2014

My lips are really red in these photos, partly because the lighting is washing out the other colors. Oh well. I cannot take any credit for this outfit. It's a total copy of Petite Career Girl. I would have never thought to pair mint and red and definitely not with the stripes. But I love it! I made it my own version with a lighter color clutch and wedges.

Happy Easter! I wish you all the joy and peace this day brings!

Casual Friday

Tshirt-  Target option option
shoes- Target option
bracelet- JCPenney option option
necklace- Forever21 option option
worn April 12, 2014

This is actually a casual Saturday outfit. We don't have casual Friday at work, so casual is limited to weekends. I'm posting on Friday and needed a post title, so casual Friday it is.

The only reason I took these pics was because I was debating about whether or not this looked okay and if I should keep or donate this shirt. I have become extremely picky about tshirts. I don't like cheap ones that "roll" around the middle and have no shape to them. I like for them to have a little stretch and still keep their shape. This is a cheap tshirt and it's doing a little "rolling" but overall, I think this worked out. I think accessories are totally what make jeans and a tshirt an "outfit".

Cobalt and grey

Blazer- Forever21- option
blouse- JCPenney
pants- Belks similar
shoes- Payless option option
necklace- Sassy Steals option
Worn April 11, 2014

I love to infuse color into my work attire. There is no better color than cobalt. I have a couple of outfits with cobalt and grey pinned, but I had to add a twist and a little more color by throwing in the necklace. Oh and the shoes too. I got lots of compliments on these shoes all day long.

Fun shoes

Blazer/pants- GAP
blouse- JCPenney option
necklace- gift
shoes- Payless option option
Worn April 10, 2014

I saw these shoes on the Payless website and made a mental note that they would be a fun pair to have but I wasn't sure about them. Then I saw a couple of other bloggers wearing them and knew they looked great in real life. Final confirmation came when I saw yet another blogger wear a striped pair of flats with business attire. I made a trip to Payless and they had my size in store.

I wore these to work and kept the outfit conservative. I got compliments on these all day.

Dots+mint

pants- JCPenney option
shoes- TJMaxx option
worn April 8, 2014

How easily they sucker me in! A couple of months ago JCrew Factory had a really good sale so I went to the site to get the popover in black dots. I originally wanted this color and ended up with a blue one. The blue on has gotten lots of wear, so I knew it would be a good idea to get the black one too. The blazer caught me eye because it was also on sale and I needed to replace my old mint blazer. My old one has seen so much wear, there is no way the dry cleaners can salvage the sleeves. So I have the blazer and shirt in my cart and they suggest the necklace. Um, well, it does go together and tie these two pieces together, and it was on sale, so why not. Suckered right in.

And even though I was not buying the first two pieces to wear as an outfit, I realized they would make a cute oufit. Apparantley, I'm not the only one who thinks so. Search Pinterest for mint blazer, and you will see lots of mint blazers over black polka dots.

Leopard blouse- 2 ways

Blazer- thrifted option option
blouse- Calvin Klein via Ross option option
skirt- JCPenney
shoes- Ann Klein/Belks
worn April 7, 2014

I was inspired by Mix and Match Fashion and The Style Files to pair my hot pink blazer with a leopard blouse and black pencil skirt. I really like how leopard and hot pink work together. Please excuse the photos- it was storming outside when I took these pics so I was forced indoors.

I've also worn this blouse before with a coral/orange cardigan and camel pants.

Just in case you missed it before, you can also check out 7 work outfits with the hot pink blazer.

I also have a leopard print blouse for sale in my Poshmark closet. I decided it wasn't too flattering on me, but it would look adorable on someone else.

Hope you have a great week. Linking up here:
