Green for St. Patty's Day

Blazer- thrifted similar option
blouse- JCPenney
skirt- Limited similar similar similar
shoes-old option option
necklace- gift
Worn March 17, 2014

It rained all day long. Literally. It was raining when I left for work and still drizzling when I returned. I even took these photos in a slight drizzling rain. But it didn't damper my Irish spirits. I donned my green skirt for work and made it "business like" with a classic white button up and navy blazer. For a little more fun, I added the green statement necklace.

It got this necklace as a gift for Christmas but I've had trouble working it into an outfit. I like statement necklaces but I don't think I would have picked this for myself. How would you style it?

Plaid and dots

Blazer- Target option option option
blouse- JCrew Factory similar
pants- TJMaxx option
shoes-old
Worn March 10, 2014

This top has become a work horse in my wardrobe. I thought I was getting black dots when I purchased it but realized it was navy the first time I wore it. Nonetheles, navy is a great neutral as well and I've gotten lots of use out of it. I have not run out of ways to wear it and there are more to come. It can be both dressy and casual. Last week I wore it to work, and previously I've worn it as a casual piece. (details here)

Faux layers

Blazer- Sears option
shirt- old option
pants- TJMaxx option option
shoes- Sears old
clutch-thrifted option option
Worn March 7, 2014

I rarely ever wear this sweater anymore, but I love it's soft color so I decide to give it another wear. It's made to look like two pieces but it's only one. My "clutch" had straps when I purchased it at the thrift store, but I cut those off, making it into a clutch.

Blazer and stripes

Blazer- Thrifted option
shirt- Banana Republic- option option option
scarf- Target option option
pants- JCPenney
booties- Sears option option option
Worn March 6, 2014

Last Thursday I had no idea what I was going to wear to work, but while purusing link ups and having coffee, I saw this outit from Peaches in a Pod and instantly had an outfit put together. While I have a similar cardigan, I went with my blazer because I needed to be a little more dressed up for work and I wanted to get in one more wear of this piece while it was still cold. I would have likely never thought of pairing it with stripes had it not been for the inspiration outfit.

Wrapped up

Blazer- Dorothy Perkins
sweater- JCPenney
skirt- Old option option option
boots- shoes.com
necklace- gift
Worn March 5, 2014

I've worn this skirt more times than I can possibly count. It's been in my closet over ten years, and I still love it. Last week was another cold week so I pulled it out and wrapped up in it. It's kind of like wearing a blanket.

Denim jacket and a maxi/ Style Swap

This week  for Style Swap I chose to swap a look from Danielle at Goodwillista focusing on a denim jacket and maxi skirt.

It's pretty much a piece for piece copy except for the necklaces. I tried a little necklace layering and wore a cross necklace my sweet hubby gave me for Valentine's Day and a longer "wing" necklace.

I finally gave in and purchased a denim jacket with a gift card. At least two fashion magazines have said it's a must have spring piece. I've always hesitated because I don't think I'll get that much wear out of it, but I keep pinning looks with denim jackets, so I decided it was time to bite the bullet and go for it.

Rust and navy

Blazer- (old) option
sweater- Forever 21 option
pants- TJMaxx
shoes- Payless
worn Feb. 28, 2014

I did it. I said I was going to try this blazer with navy and I did. I'm quite pleased with the way it looks against the navy stripes.

Are you tired of your winter clothes? Yep, me too, and I don't think I can possible create one more outfit. I'm ready to wear some spring clothing.

Leopard, burgundy and camel

Blazer- old option option
sweater - Gap option
scarf- TJMaxx similar option
pants- JCPenney
shoes- Payless option option
worn Feb. 27, 2014

I keep reaching for the leopard scarf. I do have other scarves, but this one has been favored this winter.
I'm also beginning to tire of the winter wardrobe, yet I managed to crank out one more new combination from my closet. I really wanted to style the scarf differently, but this was the quickest way to get out the door.

Dots and more dots

Cardigan- Tilly's option option
shirt- TJMaxx option
skirt- JCrew Factory option
booties- TJMaxx option
worn- February 23, 2014

I saw this shirt and cardigan lying together in the laundry pile and it prompted me to put this outfit together. I want to find a better way to accessorize it, but with all these dots, maybe I don't need to worry about accessories?
