Ruffles and flats

Blazer- old  option  option
blouse- JCPenney  option  option
pants-Belks option
shoes- Ann Klein via Belk's option option
worn Feb. 9, 2015

I feel pretty strongly that most dressy outfits, especially ones with fancy ruffles, look better with heels. And some casual outfits look better with flats, booties, or something other than heels. This outfit would have been better with heels, but my poor feet just felt like wearing flats. Sometimes comfort wins out over looks.

The layer formula again

I talked about this already this week -my subconscious development of a go to winter formula. I did it again. This time I was reminded by the Loft website and their pairing of tweed pants with a yellow blouse of my own yellow sweater.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Sometimes all you need are some simple black and white pieces to quickly put together an outfit. As much as I love bright colors, I will always love a black and white combo. What's your favorite color combination?

Camel and navy

Blazer- Dorothy Perkins option
blouse- JCrew Factory
pants- The Limited similar
 shoes- Ross option
Worn March 26, 2014

Some more basics paired in a ready-to-work combination. Do your clothes give you certain emotions or feelings? I felt confident and productive in this outfit, even with the flats. I like to wear flats for a break from time to time, but prefer a little heel because of my height and thick legs.  This was just a refreshing mix of basics, but I have to give credit for the idea to The Classy Cubicle for the idea.

Hot pink sweater

Blazer- Dress Barn (old) option
sweater- JCPenney similar
shirt- Sears similar
pants- Gap similar
shoes- TJMaxx option
 Worn March 18, 2014

This could be a daily work formula for me- sweater over button up, trousers. Add a blazer for another layer. It's laid back and yet still professional. I love these pointed toe wedges too. I've worn them once before. I like having a lower heel dress shoe in my closet for the days when I just don't feel like heels.

I did it. I said I was going to try this blazer with navy and I did. I'm quite pleased with the way it looks against the navy stripes.

Are you tired of your winter clothes? Yep, me too, and I don't think I can possible create one more outfit. I'm ready to wear some spring clothing.
