Happy Saturday! I always feel like this weekend really kicks off the shopping season with all the Veterans' Day sales. I do hope you had a few moments to honor someone who served our country yesterday. Any day is really a good day for that.

There are lots of sales going on so I've picked out some things for him and her from these sales that would make great gifts. I may be back to edit later too. I have more picks that are over $25 but less than $50, I'm just running out of time. This will get you started.

We took a little vacation in the mountains this week. I had visions of snuggling by a fire and drinking coffee while wrapped in a blanket all week. It didn't happen as the temps remained quite warm for the week.  It finally started to feel like fall the very last day, so I still have cozy things on my mind.  Express is having 40% off sale and Loft has sweaters and tops 40% off this weekend. Five fall trends to try

Each season has it's trends and some of them carry from one season to the next. Here are five of my favorite current falls trends. Some of them came on the scene in spring and summer and are now available in fall colors and textures.

Happy Labor Day Weekend to those of us in the U.S.! There are some great sales this weekend, so it's time to stock up on those end of summer items that will carry us into fall, or start planning our fall wardrobes. You stud you- Saturday Shopping

I first noticed studded items when these Sam Edelman bow flats caught my eye during the Nsale. Mind you, this isn't really a new trend. I had a few studded items 20-25 year ago. When you get old enough, you realize fashion trends just recycle. I digress. I don't see this trend exploding for fall, but it is around and it's nice to have a couple of pieces to add some "edge" to a look now and then, so I rounded up  over 20 studded items for your Saturday shopping, most under $100.

Old Navy haul- try on session

Happy Saturday! Instead of my usual round up I thought I'd share my recent Old Navy haul with you in the form of a try on session. Excuse the dirty mirror, messy room and wet hair. This is real life.

First up is the crochet lace yoke shift dress. It's a cute dress in a perfect color for fall. It's thin but perfect for our warm falls. My only complaint is that it's tight under the arms and has a weird fit due to the crochet top going over part of the sleeve. I'm wearing a small but might try a medium if my store has one. Other than the underarms, it fits well.

Here's the back and a close up of the texture of the top.

Hello there sweatshirt- Definitely a keeper. Super soft, not too thick and not too slouchy. Wearing a small.

Floral midi skirt- yes I layered over the dress. I wish it had pockets but it's a cute skirt with lots of potential.

Flutter sleeve waisted midi- it's longer than a midi on me. I ordered it in a regular because petite wa not available. This dress is lined and I love the sleeves. I'm undecided about the length. It would probably look better on me the length of the above skirt. 

Open front tassel hem cardigan- small. The sleeves are snug on this and they don't layer well over other tops but might work well with tanks and sleeveless tops. I'm on the fence about it. The tassels tend to get tangled together too.

We should all be sick of Nordstrom by now, but even though the Anniversary Sale is over, there are still some great things on sale at Nordstrom. No, these aren't new releases, but still great items to wear now and later for fall. Old Navy is also having a great sale this weekend on tops, dresses, and jeans. I've combined my picks from the two into a collection for you to shop. If my budget and closet had room, I'd have one of each in my closet.

Prices are good in store too.  These deals are even better than many of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale deals and my Loft clothing is sticking with me season after season. Someone pointed out that there is only six weeks of summer left. For me there is a lot more hot weather left, but if six weeks were all I had, I'd probably start dropping off the summer purchases and start looking to things I could transition to fall.
