The little red dress

Today I'm teaming up with Ada at Elegance and Mommyhood and several other bloggers again. We are all wearing red dresses in support of women's heart disease month.

Let me explain something. I have a love/hate relationship with red. I have removed a lot of it from my closet but kept a few pieces. I hate red roses. Send me yellow. When Ada presented this idea for a collaboration, I was going to skip it because I did not have a red dress. Nor did I want a red dress. I just don't like red nor wear dresses enough to add one to my closet. BUT... There is always a but. I went into JCPenney a couple of weeks ago to pick up some online orders that were Christmas exchanges for my mom and right in front next to the register was this perfect little lace up top shift dress. It had the most perfect sleeves. And it was red. I looked past my aversion to red and took it home. After trying it on and realizing that I got it for over 50% off, it was a keeper. Even if it is red. It will also be perfect again next Christmas season with a fur vest.

And I'm more than happy to help bring awareness to Heart Disease Month, considering that my grandmother and many other women in my family have passed away from heart related illnesses. My mother is an A-fib patient with a pacemaker.
