Ah Spring! It's almost here. It's time to shed the heavy coats and opt for a lighter weight jacket. Here are five spring jackets you should consider for your wardrobe. These will take you from work to weekends and in between.

A new moto jacket

I'm loving the soft tones of these booties and this jacket against the rich burgundy colors here. I wore this outfit for Thanksgiving day, and the jacket and booties were both like being in pajamas.

The Negan outfit

I'm styling my moto jacket with a scarf and grey jeans. Read on to find out what my husband said about this outfit. Hint: it's in the title.

Half yearly sale picks- Saturday shopping

If you haven't had your fill of shopping before Christmas, there are lots of after Christmas and year-end sales going on now, including the Nordstrom half-yearly sale.  I find this to be a good time to stock up on basics and try a few trends on the cheap. Here are a few of my picks:

Half yearly sale picks

Women's Sam Edelman Shelby Split Shaft Bootie • Sam Edelman • $89.90
Petite Women's Caslon Zip Back High/low Tunic Sweater • $39.90
Women's Socialite Maddie Rib Knit Cowl Shift Dress • Socialite • $29.40
Women's Bp. Faux Pearl & Crystal Necklace • BP • $12.49
Women's Sarto By Franco Sarto 'Faye' Over The Knee Boot • $161.37
Women's Ten Sixty Sherman Velvet Tee • Ten Sixty Sherman • $20.98
Women's Cristabelle Crystal & Faux Pearl Multristrand Necklace • $41.40
Women's Bp. 'Autumn' Plaid Scarf • BP • $9.98
Women's Bp. Cable Knit Infinity Scarf • BP • $9.98
Women's Blanknyc 'Easy Rider' Faux Leather Moto Jacket • Blank NYC • $59.90

Those Sam Edelman booties would be totally acceptable at the office and my current go to out of the office outfit is leggings and a tunic, so it's a great time to pick up another tunic sweater.  I have the plaid blanket scarf (seen here) and I just picked up the knit infinity scarf (less than $10!). The pop of mustard is going to be a much needed pick me up for my winter closet.  Even though the holidays are almost over, a velvet tee would make a great piece for those other upcoming special events or even Valentine's Day. If you don't want red or green, give this black off shoulder version a try.

If you're looking for a classic go to accessory for work, get a faux pearl necklace. I wear mine all the time.  I also received a Blanknyc jacket from the hubs for Christmas. If the sale jacket is as soft and comfy as mine, I say snatch it up!

Hope you've had a blessed holiday season. I'll keep this short so you can get back to shopping or relaxing or both.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Fall transition outfit for date night

The hubby and I have both been sick and under the weather since the weekend so I haven't felt much like taking outfit photos. Since I don't have a real outfit for you today, here's one I created all from Nordstrom. Each item is currently on sale. I've yet to invest in a moto or biker jacket because we have so little cold weather, but it could make a nice piece for cool evenings out.  I think this outfit would make a fun fall date night outfit. A little girly and a little edgy.

Too pretty to hide

I added this mixed media moto jacket to my wardrobe during the holiday sales. I have far more opportunity to wear office attire than casual, so I paired it with this lace top and pencil pants for an office outfit. I started out the photos with the jacket zipped, but the top is too pretty to hide so I left it open. I think the jacket will work equally well with jeans off duty.

I was way past due a trip to the hair salon last week, so I twisted and pinned my bangs back just to get by one more day. Do you have any hair tricks for those last days when you really need to go to the salon for a cut and color? The twist helped hide the ridiculous grey streak I had down the middle.
