Two of my favorites

Mint and stripes- two of my favorites. I've paired this blazer with black and white polka dots before and this time it's with stripes. I also like that the tassel on my shoes has a tiny bit of gold to go with the metallic trim on the shirt. Tiny, tiny details sometimes make a difference. It's when something is really pulled together but you don't know what or how. It's the tiny details.

Are you sick of seeing hot pink? I tend to get fixated on a certain color and wear it for a few days. You saw this blazer last week and pink yesterday. I'm posting it again today. In addition to yellow, I really like hot pink with navy. I've worn this blouse with a full navy suit before, but I decided to go for more color and wear the pink blazer.

Thanks for stopping by.

I mentioned during this post that I had been breaking up the matching yellow blazer and skirt combination. This outfit gives the skirt a chance to be seen. I was inspired by a pairing of hot pink and yellow I saw on the Banana Republic site. I wore this to church and received several compliments, from male and female, young and old. I was a bit surprised by the people that complimented me. I usually don't bare my arms this way either but no one seemed to care, so I'm getting  a little braver with sleeveless items.

I'm not very good with post titles. I'm not very creative with them, but hey, if you're following or checking this out from a link, then you know you're coming to see an outfit. At least I give you a preview of what color it is.

We are way over the Fourth now but I tend to wear these colors year round. This is what I wore on the fourth. I went with more blue and white and toned down the red. Just a touch of it.

One skirt- 5 ways

I picked this skirt up last year (a great option here)  and it has been a good investment. Even though it's a pattern, it's basic colors still make it versatile enough for many outfits year round. These are five ways I've worn it. Click on the number links for details on each outfit.

Pink and yellow

Blazer- thrifted option option
blouse- Loft option
belt- Target option
shoes- TJMaxx option
Worn July 1, 2014

I'm a little obsessed with pink and yellow this summer. Just scroll though my pinterest board. I think this particular outfit pin inspired this outfit.  I really liked this one and felt good in it all day. So why is it when you create great outfit, the pictures turn out like crap? I promise these photos don't do this justice. You can barely tell but the blouse is a light lemon yellow. I loved it with the pink blazer and belt.

Instant outfit

Dress- Belks option option
shoes- TJMaxx option option option
bracelet- Target
worn June 29, 2014

Every woman should have a great pullover dress that's full of fun prints but no fuss to wear. Paired with a great pair of shoes, it's an instant outfit. That's what this dress is for me. When I don't want to fuss with multiple pieces, buttons, fasteners, etc. I slip this on and go.

Hope you're having a great week.

Yellow peplum blazer- three ways

Blazer- old (Cato) option option
blouse- old option
pants- JCPenney similar similar
shoes- Payless option
necklace - gift option option

You can see below the original pairing of this blazer with it's matching skirt. I've been breaking up these two this year and putting the blazer to use on its own. Above I paired it with black and grey, based on an outfit idea I had pinned. The statement necklace keeps it from being too plain.

Happy Fourth of July

belt- thrifted option steal

Worn July 3, 2014

I couldn't let the Fourth of July pass without a patriotic outfit post because, well, everyone else was doing it. LOL. I wore this to work yesterday.  I will wear red, white and blue generally anytime of the year. It just works so well. Today I'll be wearing something more relaxed since I don't have to work.

Hope you all have a great day!

Classic

Blouse- JCPenney option option
pants- Limited
belt- Target option
shoes- DSW option  option
worn June 25, 2014

What's more classic than white, camel and leopard? While I usually reserve camel for the fall, I decided a white blouse would make it a summer look. And I ran out of outfit ideas, so going back to basic pieces is a standby.

Mint and navy

skirt- Limited option option
shoes- TJMaxx similar option
necklace- Forever 21
worn June 23, 2014

Mint and navy- another great color combination. The navy keeps the mint professional. The peplum edge makes this feminine and the pencil skirt keeps it stuctured. When I wear things to the office that I might not otherwise, I do so by pairing them with neutral or structured pieces that are office appropriate. I was going to wear this to church a couple of weeks ago, but decided to wear it to the office instead the next day.
