Saturday Shopping- Finds under $25

Last week's Saturday shopping post got a lot more views than normal, so that tells me I hit the nail on the head when I said we were all spent out or vowed to save money. Nonetheless, it's still fun to shop and find good deals. Here's another round up of items under $25! Items are either already under $25 or final price with retailer's coupon or reduction will be under $25.

This round up includes some basics like the JCrew stripe turtleneck, some girly statement pieces like the lace skirt from Loft and some just for fun stuff like the pineapple pencil holder and Braids, Buns and twists book!

Happy Shopping!

Leopard, black, and marsala

Sweater- JCP  option  option  option
scarf- TJMaxx (old)  option  option  option
pants- Target  option  option  option
shoes- TJMaxx  option option
worn Jan. 11, 2016

This is a pretty basic pairing- black turtleneck, trousers and scarf. What gives it a little pop is the color of the trousers and the pattern of the scarf. Booties instead of pumps still work for the office but have a little more edge too. If you've gotten bored with office attire, then rework your basic outfits with color and pattern.

Camel and navy

Blazer- Dorothy Perkins  option  option
sweater- Gap  option  option  option
pants- Loft (last year) similar  option
shoes- TJMaxx  option  option
necklace- Forever 21  option  option
worn Jan. 4, 2016

There's just something about camel and navy that make it a classic winter combination. Add plaid to the mix and it's definitely screaming winter. These pieces made for a comfy and cozy, yet polished office look. It was a great way to start this week on Monday. But I'm still glad today is Friday.

It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I guess we are looking forward to another weekend indoors cleaning and organizing. Funny how a new year brings that on.

Blanket scarf as poncho

Scarf- Asos  option  option
sweater- Gap   option  option  option  all on sale!
pants- Loft  option  option option
shoes- Target  option  option
necklace- Belks  option  option option
worn Dec. 6, 2015

There are lots of ways to wear a blanket scarf. I wore this to church a few weeks ago and wore my blanket scarf as a wrap/poncho. It was cool but not cold enough to wrap this thing around my neck so this was an easy way to still add some punch to an outfit with a scarf without being too warm. I pretty much copied this whole look from Erin at The Fashion Canvas.

This triple layered necklace was a "me" gift while Christmas shopping this year during Black Friday sales. So selfish, but the sales are too good to pass up.

It's Christmas week! Are you ready? All the presents were wrapped as of last night, so now I'm just looking forward to a short work week, lots of food, family, and presents. I've got to pick up some groceries for the cooking we plan to do, but that's it.

Just kickin it

Sweater- JCPenney  option  option
boyfriend jeans- Loft  option option option
shoes- JCPenney  option  option  option

What's more comfortable for running errands on a Sunday afternoon that boyfriend jeans and a cozy lightweight  sweater?  Maybe your pajamas or sweats or workout clothes, but folks, that's not an outfit. It really bugs me to see women in the grocery store in work out clothes when they obviously haven't worked out in a couple of years and they are not on their way to or from the gym. Regardless of your size, there are better ways to dress yourself.  Rant over.

I almost returned this sweater because it's slightly oversized with a curved hem and I really need one that's more professional so I can wear it to work and get more wear out of it. But this one was so comfy, I decided to keep it.

Outerwear

Coat- gift option  option
scarf- gift option
blouse- thrifted  option  option
sweater- JCPenney
pants- Target option
shoes- TJMaxx  option
necklace- made by me
Worn Feb. 18, 2015

I don't normally consider my outerwear as part of an outfit. Once in a while, a light jacket will be part of an outfit, like a denim jacket or utility jacket, but when it comes to staying warm, the outer piece isn't necessarily part of the outfit. With that said, since it has been so cold lately, I thought I'd throw in a shot of my coat. I do choose a neutral color for a coat that will coordinate with most anything. What are your thoughts on outerwear?

The outfit  consists of these maroon pants that I've shown a couple of times before. Here are two other ways I've worn them:

I also made the necklace I'm wearing. Details HERE on my craft blog.

A sweet look for Valentine's

Sweater - JCPenney option
skirt- thrifted  option  option
necklace- Loft  option
shoes- JCPenney  option  option
worn Feb. 8, 2015

Some might say this qualifies as Valentine's date night attire. It does have  pink. I personally would never wear this on a date. I did wear it to church Sunday. I was challenging myself to find another way to wear this skirt since I've only worn it a couple of times. I was pleased with the results.

The layer formula again

Shirt- old
sweater- Talbots-thrifted  option
pants- TJMaxx option
shoes- Kenneth Cole Reaction option
bracelet- old
necklace- groopdealz  option
Worn Feb. 4, 2015

I talked about this already this week -my subconscious development of a go to winter formula. I did it again. This time I was reminded by the Loft website and their pairing of tweed pants with a yellow blouse of my own yellow sweater.

I hope you have a great weekend.
