Red chambray

Now here's something I don't see much of- red chambray. I saw this skirt Memorial Day weekend in the Loft outlet store. It was 50% off and I fell in love. Of course I got the blue one too, but red- oh my! I have a love/hate relationship with red, but this washed out shade is perfect for summer. And the skirt sells itself regardless of color. Easy pull on, elastic waist, and pockets! Full to hide the not-so-summer ready body and breezy for air flow. Perfect.

The hubby and I rarely go out to eat "just because" anymore. We limit our meals out to after church on Sunday and/or other times when we are out and just won't have time to cook. However, we went out to eat a couple of weeks ago "just because". I wore this outfit. I thought it made a cute little date night outfit. I wore the white denim jacket because I knew it would be cold indoors. But if I had to hang out outside much, the jacket would have to come off, so I'm being brave and showing you a shot of the outfit without the jacket.

The top was a purchase I made last year and was seen here.

I can't find an exact match for the skirt or top, so I tried to link up some similar items in the same cut and style. While I was looking, I found this tassel trimmed skirt. How cute is that? This is pretty much the same skirt but in a print.

Have a great weekend!

My favorite wedge sandals

I didn't realize until I started putting this post together that every single clothing item is from Old Navy. They were all bought in different years. I guess this is proof of how repeated shopping from a retailer pays off- their pieces go together year after year.

You saw these wedges in my last post. Once the temps rise, they go on repeat, but I'm afraid I need to be looking for a new pair. Any day the little piece on the buckle strap or the strap itself is going to break. I just don't want to part with them. It's difficult to find wedges that don't make your feet slide forward out of the shoe, but these are the perfect angle. What items do you have like that? the perfect piece you don't want to part with?

I just did a round up of some bright striped pieces for spring. Lucky for me, I have a bright striped skirt in my closet. I've had this one for a few years now (see four more ways to wear it), and it still doesn't disappoint. I wore this to church on Sunday. It was a beautiful day but a little cool that morning so this cardigan was a comforting layer.

Bright bold stripes- Saturday shopping

Another one of the Glamour's 16 most wearable spring trends is bright, bold stripes. Stripes always work for me and I love bright colors too. I'll have no problem adding in this trend. Here are some bright striped picks for you.

Happy Shopping!

1 skirt- 5 ways

We are going to have weather in the 70s and 80s this week, so I'm thinking about skirts. This grey one is a favorite of mine so I decided to round up ways I've worn it for you. Here are five ways:

Apparently I like wearing the polka dot popover and the black booties with this skirt? Did you notice each had been paired with it twice? Oh, and the black blazer.  If a formula works, go with it. You don't have to make drastic changes to come up with a new outfit.

I would have made a collage for side by side comparisons, but Picmonkey isn't cooperating. Can anyone suggest a program or templates for collages?

It's not over yet

Summer- it's not over yet, or as we would say here in the south- it AIN'T over yet. Nope, not on the calendar or with the temps, so I'm still going through my summer wardrobe and getting in as much wear as possible. As tempting at the plaids, fur, olive, booties and such may be, summer is not over yet and it' not quite time for them.

I've had this outfit  in my head for almost a year, based on the scarf. I don't know why it took me all summer to finally wear it but here it is. Everything in this post is super old. I do tend to keep and wear things for years, even it I only wear it once or twice a season. It breaks the boredom.

Pairing the obvious

It took me seeing a similar combination on someone else for me to realize I could put these two pieces together. I've done lots of red, white, and black before, so I don't really know why this eluded me. I guess I should start thinking a little simpler when it comes to outfits.

Have a great weekend!
