No, no small changes to the blog or life. I'm referring to the outfit. I wore the blazer and top together before with black pants and shoes. This time it's grey bottoms. I think the bottom half is a little boring like this, but it's functional. Some days that's the way it has to be.

I also have a red blazer for sale in my Poshmark closet. It needs a new home.

Red, white, and blue for work or play

With the Fourth of July coming this weekend, I thought it be fun to round up ways to dress in red, white and blue. It's a classic combination I go to year round, not just for patriotic holidays. All of these are from my archives:

It's 2015! I'm still posting outfits from 2014 so not much has changed. I'm still running behind. Even though I wore this as my Christmas eve outfit for work and for a church service that evening, it's neutral enough to wear year round. I was inspired by this outfit to pair these pieces together. Sometimes I overlook the simplest and most obvious outfit choices. Thank goodness for pinterest and all of you who provide inspiration for me. I didn't go with the pearl necklace like the inpiration photo because I've had the Kimberly knock-off on repeat. I'm loving this necklace right now.

Red on repeat- 19 of 30

Blazer- Belks  option  option  option
shirt- Macys  option  option
skirt- Dorothy Perkins  option  option
necklace- gift  option  option
bracelet- Target  option  option
purse- JCPenney  option  option
shoes- DSW option  option   option

Something had to be repeated this week, so it's the red blazer. Otherwise, it would have been one of the tops. I'm far enough into this 30x30 that at least one or two items will be repeated in a week. I don't mind something like black bottoms, but repeating tops in a week still bugs me. Anyway, I still really like this outfit. It has stripes, a midi skirt and leopard! Why wouldn't I like it?

Cobalt and red

Blazer- old- Belks  option option

It should be a given that red and blue go together but I had never thought about cobalt and red until I mixed these pieces from my 30x30 choices. So I warned you that the remixing would begin- you saw the sweater on day 2 and the pants on day 4, but I'm sure you would agree these are totally different outfits.

What unexpected color combinations have you come up with lately?

Red, white and blue

Blazer- Belk's option option option
Worn August 20, 2014

Another blogger pointed out yesterday that this is technically the last week to wear white. Um...I'm not ready for that. I know a lot of you are looking forward to fall and even experiencing it, but we had temps over 100 last week so I still have summer on the brain. And I still have summer dresses and outfits to wear. I can't seem to get around to them all because I can only wear some of them to church due to the restrictive conservative work dress code I'm required to follow.

So... I'm not sure I'll follow the rules outside of work. I may keep wearing white even after next week.

I based this off this outfit that I pinned. I'd love to go with shirt tail out like the inspiration photo, but that might be frowned upon at work.

I couldn't let the Fourth of July pass without a patriotic outfit post because, well, everyone else was doing it. LOL. I wore this to work yesterday.  I will wear red, white and blue generally anytime of the year. It just works so well. Today I'll be wearing something more relaxed since I don't have to work.

Hope you all have a great day!

Red blazer- 6 ways

                                           1                         2                            3

                                         4                             5                          6

Happy Monday! Hopefully for most of you in the USA this will be a short work week, with Friday off to celebrate Independence Day.

Today I'm showing you six ways I've worn a red blazer. I have two of them. This one has a black/grey pinstripe lining so I tend to wear this one with black and white. You could just as easily swap this out for blue/navy and white. Funny thing- I detest red roses and red Christmas decorations at times, but apparently I like to wear red. I've certainly worn a lot of it this past month and posted outfits with red on the blog a lot.
