Style Swap

                             Mix and Match Fashion              My version

Today I'm linking up with My New Favorite Outfit and Style Swap (details here). I chose to swap out a style from Tara at Mix and Match Fashion.  I had recently pinned this outfit from her blog with my skirt in mind. I don't have any window pane pants but I do have a fushia sweater, black blazer and this skirt. I also liked the pop of blue she added, so I did the same with my bubble necklace. I recently read that bubble necklaces were out, but I've seen a few of my favorite bloggers still wearing them, and as long as I'm comfortable, I will be too. I just couldn't skip the pop of color this adds just because bubble necklaces are "out".

Boyfriend shorts take 2

Shirt- Ralph Lauren/Macy's; Shorts- Gap
necklace-Groopdealz
shoes- Target
Worn Sept 14, 2013

I wore this on Saturday to the local "Fall Concert" featuring Big Daddy Weave. We went to lunch first and the very young hostess at Ruby Tuesday commented on my necklace and the orange shorts and said they reminded her of fall and not many people can pull off orange. She was very complimentary of my look. So does this mean I pulled off a summer to fall transition with shorts? (even though it's not yet fall on the calendar or the themometer).

Turning 40

Blazer/pants- Sears (similar); shirt- Limited (similar) (similar-(steal))
necklace- Groopdealz (similar)
Worn July 23, 2013

I turned 40 three weeks ago. To brighten myself up, I paired my turqouise bubble necklace with a coral/orange shirt. I left the rest conservative for work. To be honest, I didn't really need cheering up. I'm not sad over being 40- it's quite an accomplishment.

Bubble necklace

Cardigan- Old Navy (similar); top- Target (similar);
pants- Target; shoes- Target; necklace- Groopdealz (similar)
worn Feb.10, 2013

What can I say? I like clothes from Target. And bubble necklaces. Bubble necklaces add an extra touch to any outfit. They make plain pieces instantly cute.

File this one away for your fall/winter inspiration. The colors are more winter than spring, but I wanted to share this outfit anyway.

Color of the year

Blazer- Dress Barn; blouse- Target;
pants- Belk's; shoes- Target
earrings- Bauble Bar
Worn Nov. 20, 2012

So the new color of the year is emerald. Well, I was a few months ahead of the trend with my accessories. I won't be going overboard with the color, but I do like it. I based this outfit on the inspiration I pinned below.

I was drawing inspiration from the grey, teal and the earrings. But come to think of it, I could do an all grey outfit, pants or skirt, with this blouse. Wow, I just came up with another outfit while writing this post. Warning: blogging could stimulate creativity.
