Mixing up the mustard

So far I've worn this mustard blazer with navy   and with the same top and teal pants. This time I'm pairing the two pieces with brown. Even though its the exact same top and blazer, they look different than they did with the teal. I love it when I wardrobe is this versatile.

Fall is still very warm for us here so transition outfits and early fall outfits have more to do with color and pattern than with your typical fall pieces like scarves and sweaters. This orange top paired with navy and plaid made a perfect fall office outfit without being too warm. I love the booties with the ankle pants too. I typically save these booties for the spring (seen here) due to their lighter color but I'm utilizing them for  fall transitions until it gets a little cooler and I can bust out my suede booties.

 

It started raining while I was taking these photos. Ignore the rain drops.

Beachy waves

This outfit was created out of a need for something that didn't need ironing and could get me out the door  quickly. I had already wasted too much time on hair. I was pretty sure that I had already worn something similar but I couldn't find it in my archives.  You can see five ways I've previously worn these pants here and a look back at the blouse here. I suppose this outfit would be another nod to fall.

 

My attempt to style the new haircut led to some accidental waves and curls, so I just went with it and created beachy waves all over. I actually got compliments on my hair this day. I attempted the waves two other days before I got my hair cut again, but they didn't turn out quite as well as they did this day. I have a lot of hair, thick hair. Curling or creating beachy waves takes a lot of time that I usually don't have in the mornings. I am NOT a morning person.

Camel trousers for the summer

I typically think of camel as a color for fall and winter, yet I wear my camel trousers year round. They are a perfect neutral to pair with summer brights like this cobalt blazer and patterned top. I don't mean to overload you with this necklace, but once I received it, it fell into heavy rotation.

 

Do you ever feel like your days just become repeats? Get up, work out, work, grocery store, home, blog, dinner, dishes, bed. That's what I anticipate today will be like. If something goes wrong, I will regret being bored with the daily routine, but sometimes it becomes monotonous. Do you ever break up your routine during the week? This necklace is one of my favorites. It's a Stella and Dot piece that can be worn 5 ways in various lengths and by attaching or detaching the three parts. I've managed to wear this piece with office attire and casual wear. It's versatility makes it one of my favorites.

 

I love the soft colors of this outfit polished off with a black blazer for the office. It can be tricky to dress in a conservative environment when you like to be different like me. I push the envelope here and there in small ways.
