Blushing... more like flushing in this ridiculous heat that's going on right now. Here I am remixing the blush blazer and floral blouse from The Limited. I've loved having these pieces in my wardrobe this spring. My coworker keeps telling me I need a pair of blush heels to go with all the pink I've worn this year, but I don't like to get too matchy matchy. I've also been grabbing this necklace as a go to all spring. Do you reach for the same thing over and over, or for a season?

Off shoulder top and wide leg pants

I recently blogged about a printed pair of linen blend wide leg pants. I also purchased these linen wide leg pants the same day. They have a tiny stripe and are the comfiest things. It's getting awfully hot here (98, over 100 index) but these will be a great option for pants in the heat. The wide leg allows for some air flow.

This top is a new purchase as well. I just had to get on the off shoulder band wagon. I'm not sure that I'm sold that it's for me. The top doesn't want to stay put when I move and I'm not one to fuss with clothing. I will say that I do like that this top has structure and is not too flowy. The flowy ones tend to make me look bigger. Most folks have been pairing their off shoulder tops with tassel earrings, but really any pair of dangle statement earrings will work.

Little red

Do you have the song "Little Red Riding Hood" or just thoughts of the children's story stuck in your head now? You know you want to complete that title. Maybe it's distracting you from the woes of returning to work.

I love how this little red pleat front blouse (seen before HERE and HERE)  pops with the grey and heathered navy. I also like the cognac brown shoes and belt much better than I would grey, navy or black pumps. If you are getting a little bored with your daily attire, make a little change with color or shoe color.

Have a great week!

Pom poms- Saturday Shopping

pom poms

Brightly colored pom poms are all the fashion rage right now. I love this fun trend and I've got my eye on some sandals, but I'm still holding out. I've rounded up a few pom pom trimmed items for you to add some fun to your summer. Just think how cute you'd be be at the beach in a pom pom trimmed cover up and straw hat.

Weekend style

I love that in the summer I get to share a little more with you than just work outfits. It seems like we are going and doing more and have more daylight for pictures, so I get more opportunities to capture the "off duty" looks. Since we are heading into the weekend, this outfit is perfect for today's post.

I wore this outfit while we were away on a Memorial Day weekend trip. It rained the day I wore it so I had to photograph it when we returned home. That's why I'm a little late sharing it.

I don't know if boyfriend shorts are as popular this year as they were the last couple of years, but I still love mine. (They still fit, lol, and are forgiving of a few extra pounds). This shirt is my first ever purchase from Loft, from their clearance rack. I still love it too. These two pieces together make an easy breezy weekend outfit. Don't worry about your hair, throw on a hat and go.

I'm pushing it with these sandals. I suspect one of the elastics on a strap will break any day, but I just haven't found a replacement yet. I'm thinking about going with a gold pair of sandals when I do replace them.

What are your weekend plans? What about your summer weekend style? What do you like to wear?

I am the worst blog post title writer ever. I rarely come up with a catchy title, so you usually get "summer brights" or "shorts' or something that is less than creative. I was looking at this outfit trying to come up with something and asked myself what this made me think of. I took a look at my necklace and thought, fruity pebbles. So there you go. No, my necklace is not edible, it just adds a fun punch of color to a summer outfit. I've even worn it with my business attire before.

I recently purchased these shorts. I had an orange pair a couple of years ago but they got stained and I really missed them last year. I wasn't able to replace them last year but was more than excited when I saw these this year. And while a plain white tee always works with bright shorts, I couldn't resist adding another color.

I also recently purchased this saddlebag crossbody purse. I usually pair down from my daily tote to a smaller bag like this for vacations, shopping and travel.

Hope you are having a good week.
