A new favorite

This may just be a new favorite work outfit. It was comfortable, crisp and I felt professional but not stuffy or boring. Colors can still be professional even in a very conservative environment.

Just in case you are wondering, I did not wear mint two days in a row. But then again, what's wrong with that? Last Friday I posted the mint cardigan. My trip out of town has gotten my posts out of order because I was not able to take all of pics ahead of  time or during that week and still have a few things that have been worn that still need to be photographed. I also had some busy long days last week that didn't allow for pics but I managed to get this one in.

Here's a look back at the mint blazer worn last year with black and stripes:

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week.

Shades of green

A pencil skirt, cardigan and heels always looks business ready. It' such an easy formula to pull off. I decided to go a little monochrome on top with the blouse and cardigan. I would probably have never thought of this pairing if it had not been for isolating these pieces in my capsule.

I can't say enough about these shoes either. They are very affordable and most of all, COMFORTABLE. They are from the Payless comfort line. If you need a great shoe that goes with everything, don't think you have to spend a lot for it. These will be your go to. And if you're looking for a little more color, they are available in colors too! (And yes, that' an affiliate link up there. If you take my advice, I'll earn a little commission.)

Sometimes you need a grab and go option for work that still looks professional and like you put some effort into it. That's when a matching suit comes in handy. I paired my black suit with the chartreuse top and leopard accents. I purposely put the matching suit in my capsule because I knew there would be days like this one where I didn't want to spend energy on creating an outfit. Fun accessories keep it from being boring.

Blush and dots

Not much to say this morning. This is another take on the dot skirt. This time I paired it with the blush blouse. This skirt goes so well from season to season. I wore it with tights HERE for a winter look.

HERE are three more looks with the skirt and below is a comparison to the very last time I wore it.

The other half of Lavendar

Blazer- old   option   option   option
blouse- Loft via Poshmark  option     option
necklace- Banana Republic (old)  option   option
shoes- Banana Republic   option   option

This blazer is the other half of the matching suit set I talked about here. The one that taunts me. So I put the blazer in my spring capsule. It's my challenge piece. I like this pairing better than the last couple of times I tried to wear it. I've also cut off the inside buttons and tabs. It just didn't look good buttoned and the buttons/closures looked silly dangling unbuttoned.

The silver shoes were an impromptu add on. I had planned to wear nude shoes because of the pattern and all the colors here but I was in a hurry and found these first. I thought, lavender, blue, silver- that could work so on the feet they went and out the door I was.
