Coral, cobalt, mint, chevron and floral!!??? How much more goodness and how many more trends can you pack into one garment? I saw this blouse at TJMaxx a few weeks ago. It pretty much called my name from the rack, but I ignored it and left it there. I kept thinking about it and decided that it would mix with four or five other items in my closet so I went back and purchased it. It was then that I realized that in addition to all my favorite spring colors, this blouse had chevron and florals in the print. Score!

In celebration of spring, I wore this blouse with my coral blazer on Friday. For some reason the lighting is making my blazer look more of a salmon pink color, but trust me, it's coral. And this top is so cute. The top has a keyhole back with ties to tie a little bow at the neckline. I must wear it sometime without a blazer so it can be seen.

The Inspiration:

When I saw this ad from Ann Taylor, I was reminded of this top I thrifted and still needed to wear, so this outfit was inspired. As much as I love color, I love the clean blending of beige and black. Something about this is perfect for a conservative work environment, yet still polished and not boring.

You have probably noticed I don't add my purses or bags much. I tend to carry the same one over and over. I had to add this one in the pics because it goes so well with the outfit. And for a cheap, or inexpensive bag, it looks pretty good. The key is minimal hardware. Cheap bags with lots of shiny cheap metal look, well, cheap.

I think these shoes add a little more here too than plain black shoes. I've actually gotten more wear out of these than I thought I would, even though at 4 inch heels they are certainly not daily go tos.

Here's a look back at a few outfits with the shoes:

I'm glad that the calendar says it's spring. Our forecast promises to be in line with that today. Unfortunately, my day will be spent inside an office. There is hope for Saturday.

I wore this Wednesday because the temps took about a 20 degree dip. May as well get in one more wearing of some winter items. I doubt you will see the blazer, pants and shoes again until fall. The floral blouse is versatile enough to pull off in spring or fall so you may see it again.

Black, white and a touch of green

This was my St. Patrick's Day outfit- black, white and of course, green. I have been meaning to wear this jacket more, so it was the perfect choice for the holiday. And I had to go with black and white so I could wear my new shoes. It's hard to tell from the pics but the white part is perforated. These are also from the comfort line at Payless that I talked about recently.

Navy and camel

I've been wearing a lot of navy and grey lately so I thought I'd lighten it up a little with camel. I really like this blouse paired with the camel trousers. I saw a similar combination on my neighbor at church and decided I need to try it. Love it.

Hold on- Spring is coming...

How I use Pinterest for outfit inspiration

There are multiple ways to use Pinterest for outfit inspiration. I use it as if I have no ability of my own to match clothing or dress myself. No, seriously, it can be  a great jumping off point. One of the ways I use Pinterest is for color inspiration. You don't have to recreate the exact look- just use the color combinations. Sometimes I search Pinterest and sometimes I pin from ads or blogs if it inspires something I want to remember.

Take this outfit for example. I started out searching generally under women's fashion or women's business attire Friday morning because I had failed to pick out clothes the night before and had no idea what I wanted to wear.  I was already running late. No time to stand and stare in the closet. I found this pin:

I immediately thought about these colors in my closet. Instant outfit. I swapped the skirt for pants and I was out the door. I think the skirt would be more chic than my pants and I have a grey skirt, but it was raining so I wasn't feeling the skirt.

I could have kicked it up a little with some accessories but I was doing good to get out the door clothed much less accessorized.

How do you use Pinterest? I'll be sharing more tips on how to use it for outfits soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I'll be heading to work clad in green so I don't get pinched but I won't be able to take pics until afterwards so I'll share the outfit later in the week.

I guess you  know by know that I really like this cobalt color, in  particular these shoes. These shoes run around 22-$30 at Payless depending on sales and they are from their comfort plus line. And they are truly comfortable. I'm not paid by Payless to say that. I don't mind letting you know when something is a great deal. In fact, I've got a pair ordered from this line in nude and bought a black and white pair while they were on sale last week.

But this really wasn't about the shoes. It's about the pants. I almost didn't buy them because they were more of a splurge than a need, but I'm glad I did. I've found several outfit possibilities in them during the winter. The last time I wore them I realized I should pair them with a cobalt top. I was originally thinking the cobalt sweater, but decided to go with a lighter layer since the weather is warming up. Silly Mother Nature actually gave me a cold day last week when I wore this and I could have worn the sweater. Oh well.

Below are five ways to wear these pants (including the above outfit.)
