Today I'm sharing how I styled my seersucker sailor shorts from Loft. I've worn this shirt with seersucker before, so this was an easy choice. This JCrew Factory shirt is no longer available but I think these shorts would look equally cute with the JCrew Factory pineapple tee or the metallic crab tee. And can we talk about these wedges? They are just a little over 2 inches tall so they provide enough height to lengthen and lean the legs but they are still short enough to wear with everything and super comfortable. I could wear and walk in these all day. You will be seeing them a lot this summer. They are available from several stores, so pick your favorite store and watch for a sale.

Cold shoulder, twists, and a link up

Hi everyone. I'm excited because today I'm doing something different. If you follow me, then you know that obviously I did something different with my hair. I rarely ever style it but in it's regular cut, but I decided to go a little boho and pull the "bangs" back in some twists.

But that's not all that's different. Today I'm cohosting Jersey Girl Texan Heart's link up! I've decided to step out and do something a little different with the blog. I do hope you will go visit Monica and follow her on her social channels. She is the sweetest girl with the cutest, most fun sense of style. She has always left me the most encouraging comments, and I love following her blog. I'm honored to be cohosting with her today. Be sure to link up below.

As for the hair, it's quite simple to do. Grab a small section of "bangs" or hair in the front on each side and twist them towards the back. Meet each twist in the middle at the crown and secure with a clear tiny rubber band.  Done.  Head out and have some fun.

Striped swing dress

Today we are talking about the swing dress. Easy one piece dressing for a hot summer day. I wasn't sure if this style would work for me. I tried the Old Navy dress and it didn't work. Then I found this one at JCP. Sold. (BTW, it comes in four colors and it's on sale for $19.99!)

I'm so glad I didn't give up after trying on the Old Navy dress. I'm not bashing that dress by no means. I've seen it on others and it looks great, but it didn't work for me. I think that this one is a little heavier knit and hangs better for me. And I love the top- ample coverage.

Okay, it is a swing dress, so I had to get some pictures twirling and making the bottom flare. Ya'll ready for this?

So as not to leave you with a scarred memory, here's one more normal shot.

I decided to add pops of pink in my accessories but this dress is basically a blank slate and anything would go.

The white blazer

The white blazer... It can be worn year round if you wish, but it does so much to lighten up an otherwise dark work outfit for the summer. White just says "summer" and I've been into everything white this season, on and off duty.

It's going to be a busy week, so I'll keep this short and sweet. I've got lots to do.

The tassel is worth the hassel- Saturday shopping

tassels

That quote refers to graduation and we had our whirlwind of that last month with my nephew and some friends. But the tassels we are talking about today aren't a hassle at all. They are so much fun and totally on trend right now. Last week we looked at pom poms, and this week I've rounded up an assortment of tassel trimmed items for your shopping fun.

Visit Purple Peridot for more tassel fun. I'm in love with this necklace  and these bracelets.

Happy Shopping!
