Just when I think I should ditch this blazer, I come up with yet one more way to wear it. Here are six other ways I've worn it. This time I paired it with these heathered navy blue pencil pants. This is one of my favorite outfits that I have come up with in a while. And there was no pinterest inspiration involved here. Just a look through the closet to see what might work with these pants.

Winter florals

Worn Feb. 17, 2015

It rained all day Tuesday, forcing me to take pictures indoors. This is the Target skirt that I was swayed by social media to buy. I first styled it here. It really does have lots more options and I should have worn it again before now. But if I don't wear it again this season, it will get lots of wear in the fall and next winter.  Sometimes I do that. I tend to wear a new item more the next season than when I first buy it. Do you have any quirky clothing habits?

Rust blazer- Six ways

Amazing what a $10 blazer can do! I picked this blazer up at Tuesday Morning for $10 a few years ago (option/ option/ option) and have more than gotten my money out of it. It's been a great fall/winter piece. Sometimes I think it's tired and boring and I can't do anything else with  it except repeat outfits, but it may have life left. We'll see.

Above are six ways I've worn it in the past. Click on the numbered links below to see each original post.

One more time

Blazer- Tuesday Morning- option
blouse -thrifted option
pants- Limited
sweater- thrifted  option  option
shoes- Target option  option
 worn Nov. 20, 2014

I thought that this shirt had seen it's last days. I've worn it with this blazer before and worn it a couple of other ways, but I thought I had exhausted possibilities for remixing it. Items get boring to me when that happens. But introduce layering with a sweater and a new look is born!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. If I don't make it back to the blog in the next couple of days,  I'm busy eating, visiting family, stuffing shopping bags with Christmas gifts and putting out Christmas decorations.

Ol' rusty and a loafer day

Blazer- old- option option
shirt-thrifted
pants- JCPenney
shoes-old Target option option
necklace- Chicos-thrifted
Worn Feb. 7, 2014

I'm wearing my trusty rust wool jacket again. This piece gets rotated over and over during fall and winter, but usually just with browns. This time I tried black pants. Maybe next time I'll work in navy. I also wore loafers because it was Friday and I was tired, just too tired for heels. Do you ever have those days?

Speaking of heels vs flats, one of my favorite bloggers recently posted that she wears flats a lot off the blog but not on the blog. Why not go ahead and keep it real? Show the outfits with flats too. Not being ugly to anybody, but outfits that are not for the real world do me no good. They are just eye candy and I see a lot of it. Lots of posts where I think, where in the world would she really wear that outfit or those shoes? You certainly wouldn't do a lot of walking. It makes me wonder if some of these people even have jobs, or do that just dress up and take pictures all day? Just my rant, you go ahead and run your blog as you see fit. Mine will be a real world collection of what I really wear to work, church, and play.

Rust jacket/ gold accessories

Jacket- Chadwicks via Tuesday Morning similar similar
blouse/pants- JCPenney
shoes- Old
bracelet- JCPenney option option
earrings- gift option option
worn Jan. 17, 2014

This jacket hasn't seen much wear this year but is usually a "go to" for the fall/winter season. I realized when I put it on this time I usually always wear it with brown. At least I tried a lighter color this time. Next time I'll try black but I don't want to look to  Halloween-ish.

And speaking of gold: it's so "80s" to me and I went through a phase of not liking it, but I've embraced it again.

What "old" new trends did you reluctantly embrace?

Rust and hot pink

Jacket- thrifted (similar); Blouse- Express- thrifted (similar);
pants- JCPenney; belt- Target
shoes- Franco Sarto thrifted (option)
worn Aug. 29, 2013

I would have never thought to pair rust and hot pink until I saw this in Redbook mag. Since I'm pairing both colors on top, I added dark brown to the mix and a little leopard. I'm happy with how this turned out. New combinations with old pieces are always fun to me.

Below is my favorite detail of this jacket.
