A super casual weekend outfit and Five things for Friday

I'm so glad we finally made it to Friday. I probably say that every week, but this has been a really tiring week. It doesn't help that I started Monday by going to work at 6:30 a.m. Starting the week sleep deprived it just no good!

Work to Weekend: One Piece Three Ways

I'm back again with another Work to Weekend post. This time I'm featuring a blue tunic blouse that until recently I've only worn to work. It's a versatile piece that can transition to other outfits, so lets take a look at three ways to wear it.

How to step up your leggings game

Leggings are great when you don't really want to wear pants but you don't want to wear a dress or skirt either. You just want to be comfy, right?

But sometimes you want to elevate that a little, right? Enter faux leather leggings.

Excuse the weird sun flares in the photos. I didn't realize they were there until I went to edit the photos and I simply don't have time to do much photoshop work on them. I really liked this outfit and wanted to share it so you get the sunflare photos along with it. We have about one day per week right now that's cool enough for something like this so of course I jump at the chance to wear it.

Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season so far. We have almost finished our gift shopping and are ready to wrap it up (literally and figuratively). No pun intended.

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going on. You have a few more days to shop (until Aug. 7). Lots of popular items have sold out but there's more to be found. Above are ten items under $25. These are some fun basics and some things you may not have thought about stocking up on. How about those no show socks? You know we all need them for booties and low profile shoes and loafers on those days when we want our feet warm and dry but don't want to look like we have on socks. And considering that Ulta (and Nordstrom) sells 5 ounces of the Whish body butter for $18 and you can get 13 ounces for $15 bucks, that's a steal (this one is a little different version and is an exclusive). I tried some of that stuff last Christmas in a special release winter fragrance from Ulta and loved it. I don't own any Hue leggings but I've heard great things about these wide waist band leggings.

Do you use ebates when you shop online? I do -when I remember- I could kick myself because I forget to sign in when I made my big Nsale order, ugh. It's a great way to pay yourself back for shopping. Sign  up here.

Did you catch my review of my Nsale purchases? What have you bought and loved so far or hated?

Want to know how to get a few things for just over a dollar? And I'm not talking about the Dollar Tree.  Right now JCPenney has out their $10 off $10 purchase coupons and I went in yesterday and purchased some new bath towels, wash cloths, and a hand towel for just a little over a dollar a piece. These items are on sale and with the $10 off they are pretty much free. You do have to do separate transactions for each coupon. Mine came in the mail, but your can print a $10 off $25 purchase from the JCP website.

Happy Shopping and saving!

I think that leggings, a striped tee or turtleneck, and a chambray shirt are all basic pieces that everyone should have in their closet. By now, a utility jacket is pretty much a basic piece too. These pieces can be worn in lots of ways, and when it's super cold, you can layer them all together in one outfit like I did. We went to do a photo shoot Saturday (indoors thankfully) but I had to get to and from it in temps that only went to 38 for the day and 23 mile per hour winds. The hair wasn't going to make it and we were shooting in a gym that I thought might be cold and drafty, so a beanie was in order.

I love the little peek of stripes from under the chambray.
