Summer essentials

Summer essentials- white jeans, or shorts, or crops if you live anywhere near me. It's gotten too hot for these jeans, unless I'm going to be indoors most of the time. Another summer essential should be the off shoulder or cold shoulder top. I think this trend will be around a couple of years at least. I first debuted this top with wide leg linen pants and now I'm pairing it with white jeans. I love the contrast of my darker blue wedge sandals. Add those the summer essential list- a good pair of espadrille wedges.

Currently I'm... playing? I'm "playing" catchup with my scrapbooks. I don't play video games or even board games all that often, but the college age kids in the Sunday School class we teach are totally into Pokémon Go. The front of our church is even a stop for catching one. What are you currently playing? Are you into the pokemon craze or any gaming?

White out- Saturday shopping

All white

Summer is the perfect time for an all white look! It's crisp and cool, or at least it sends cool vibes even when you're having a 108 heat index day like we are today.  Shop the look above and more below. Happy Saturday!

Some more great white pieces on sale today are this Gap linen dress (40% off), fringe tweed shell from Ann Taylor ($25 with discount), white scuba culottes from Macy's and these tie front shorts from Banana Republic ($19.99 with discount).

I've also got a cute white fit and flare skirt from Banana Republic in my Poshmark closet. Make me an offer!

Happy Shopping!

Hello long weekend! Do you have plans? We don't but that's okay. We don't really like large crowds and sometimes I like those long weekends with no plans. If I were going out, I'd probably wear something like this.

I knew these seersucker sailor shorts would make a perfect Fourth of July outfit, so I paired them with a blue top, white earrings, red sandals and a red clutch. This would be the perfect fireworks or backyard bar-b-que outfit. What will you be wearing this Fourth of July?

Cold shoulder, twists, and a link up

Hi everyone. I'm excited because today I'm doing something different. If you follow me, then you know that obviously I did something different with my hair. I rarely ever style it but in it's regular cut, but I decided to go a little boho and pull the "bangs" back in some twists.

But that's not all that's different. Today I'm cohosting Jersey Girl Texan Heart's link up! I've decided to step out and do something a little different with the blog. I do hope you will go visit Monica and follow her on her social channels. She is the sweetest girl with the cutest, most fun sense of style. She has always left me the most encouraging comments, and I love following her blog. I'm honored to be cohosting with her today. Be sure to link up below.

As for the hair, it's quite simple to do. Grab a small section of "bangs" or hair in the front on each side and twist them towards the back. Meet each twist in the middle at the crown and secure with a clear tiny rubber band.  Done.  Head out and have some fun.

Anyone miss me a couple of days last week? I missed posting a couple of days and I miss having time to reply to comments and interact with you all. Life...just...gets hectic.

We are having the chilliest spring ever, or at least that I remember. So here I am in layers and suede booties that I normally would not be sporting this time of year. I'm not complaining though- it's better than sweating. Ruffles are on trend for this spring so I'm glad I've kept this lightly ruffled layered tee (seen before here)  around through my many closet purges. Tees don't see much wear in my wardrobe so I keep pairing down to just a few basic ones, but I like having this one as an option because it's just a step above for when you need something a little more dressy than just a plain tee.

What elevated basics do you have around in your wardrobe? Leave me a comment, I'd love to know.

Marsala and leopard

Worn Feb. 19, 2016

This combination of marsala (burgundy) sweater (worn before here)  and camel pants (with navy and red here ) just screamed to have leopard with it. I could have added my leopard pumps but went with the lower heel nude ones and pulled in the leopard with the clutch. I spent some of my Christmas money on the clutch after wanting and searching for one for over a year. The Clare V is out of my budget for a clutch. I carry a clutch as a fun bag on the weekends, but it doesn't serve me much during the work week. Totes are better suited for that.

What's your favorite bag choice?

Hope you had a great weekend. We spent it working on taxes, some photography projects and scrapbooking.
