I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and still has a few days left to unwind and relax as we close out the year. I'm headed back to work for a few days but at least it's another short week.

My mother gave me this poncho during the summer for my birthday and I finally got around to wearing it. Maybe in a few months I'll get to wear the other cold weather items I just got for Christmas. The temps went back up to 80 during the few days after Christmas so I may as well have gotten tshirts.  Oh well.

I typically wear the red skirt as a summer item but was inspired by an outfit on pinterest to try it with a poncho. Here's a look at how I've worn it before.

I opted for another bright look last week. It might seem odd to pair hot pink with this mustard pattern skirt, but I thought the scarf pulled this together well. I received several compliments.

Our Christmas decor this year is bright and colorful instead of the traditional red and green. Sometimes I do this with my wardrobe too.

It's Christmas eve! I hope you are spending quality time with family and friends as we celebrate our Savior's birth. Merry Christmas! I'll be back online in a couple of days but I'll likely be away for a bit loving on those dear to me.

I've been wearing these booties a lot lately and I'm not apologizing for it. They are a great choice for a winter dress shoe. Kind of like a winter pump, just warmer. They are great with skirt or pants.

This outfit was inspired by  A Lovely Little Wardrobe. I love it when I find inspiration from real ladies who post real outfits that fit my lifestyle. Is is just me or do you sometimes look at some style bloggers and wonder if and where they really wear the outfits they blog?! If they do, kudos to them. I'm just a small town southern girl with basic pieces.

When it comes to remix posts, I have remixed my wardrobe so much that I can pick just about any piece from an outfit to show remixed in other outfits. Take this outfit for example- do I go with the blazer, the pants, or the sweater? I decided to show you three ways I've worn the sweater.

                                           1                      2                            3

I wore the last version to work on the day of our office Christmas party. I always gravitate toward red when I think about dressing for Christmas.

If you're interested, the vest is for sale in my Poshmark closet. Make me an offer.

Fair Isle

Fair Isle

Beanie, socks, leggings, sweater

Are you a fan of fair isle?  It refers to the pattern of knitting that creates geometrical shapes and patterns with repeated colors. I have a grey sweater that I bought at Target last year that has yellow and pink in it. It seemed to call me out every time I went in the store, so I had to have it. Sadly, it has never made an appearance on the blog. I have worn it a couple of times. Fair isle seems to be growing more in popularity this year so check out the collection below. It's not limited to sweaters- it's on gloves, scarves, leggings, slippers, etc.

I wore this outfit Sunday to church and to our Sunday School Christmas party afterwards. We teach a college and career age Sunday School class (18-30) and they are so much fun. They had an ugly Christmas sweater theme party but I don't have an ugly Christmas sweater and couldn't find one at a thrift, so I just went with one of my favorite sweaters. The color lends itself perfectly to the holidays.

I wore tights again for the second time this season. I think some of the below options in tights would be perfect for holiday parties:
