Coral and navy stripes

Blazer- Forever21 option  option

pants- Gap
shoes- Ann Klein/Belks
necklace- Target option
Worn May 8, 2015

I mentioned in my Coral blazer- 4 ways post that I was going to try coral and navy, so here it is. I wanted a pop of mint or turquoise but I don't have the perfect necklace in either, so I went with this one. I did get a compliment on this outfit at work. Don't compliments make you feel good?

Blogger inspired

You should know that if I like your outfit, I will totally copy it. Consider it a compliment. Even if I don't totally copy it, I will take your idea and adapt it. That's what I did with this outfit from Classy Cubicle. It was the inspiration to wear my gingham shirt with a blazer- something I have never done. How is it that we miss the simplest things sometimes?

Pop of neon

Blouse- Target option option option
Blazer- Lord and Taylor (clearance last year) option option
pants- TJMaxx option
belt- Target option
Worn May 5, 2014

I'm not really into neon. It's one of those trends from my teens and early twenties that could have stayed there as far as I'm concerned and I don't think it's really huge this year, but it is still out there. What I am into is mint and this neon pink belt was the perfect pop of bright pink with my mint blouse. I was inspired by this outfit by Polka Dots and Purses. I wanted to recreate a work appropriate look and jeans are not acceptable at my job. I also don't have pink shoes, but liked the pop against white and mint, so I decided a hot pink belt would be a much more useful purchase for me. Just for fun I went with silver shoes. Those had been big on my wish list and I finally used a huge chunk of rewards and got this pair from Banana Republic. I love the lower heel.

Hoping you have a great week!

Summer dress

dress- Old Navy option option
shoes- Old Navy option option
necklace- JCrew factory
bracelets- DIY
Worn May 4, 2014

So glad it's time to break out the spring/summer dresses, even though I still cover up with a cardigan or jacket. Even though most of this ensemble came from Old Navy, I bought these pieces at different times, with no idea of wearing them together. Love it when something does come together this easily.

A little sporty chic

shirt- Macy's option option option
jeans- Levis similar
purse- Nine West via Tuesday Morning option option
bracelets- gifts
worn May 1, 2014

I had a couple of days off last week and Thursday was the perfect day to wear my new slip on sneakers to run errands. I have not had sneakers, other than my running shoes, in years. I have fallen in love with this new trend. Finally comfortable shoes that are stylish and don't look like you are going to the gym. I paired them with a striped shirt for a little bit of a "sporty chic" look. I actually wanted to wear a different striped tee, but this is the one I found when I opened the dresser drawer.

Pink poppies

Blazer/pants- JCPenney option
Blouse- Loft option option
shoes- JCPenney
Worn April 30, 2014

When this blouse first hit the Loft site, it went on my wishlist. I finally gave in and purchased it during a sale. It will add a little more variety to my work wardrobe. It's fun but still conservative enough for work.

I've recently added pin it buttons to make it easier for you to pin ideas you like. Just hover over the photos.

Breaking the rules

 Blouse- Limited
Jeans- Loft option
shoes- Target
Worn April 27, 2014 pm

Are there really any rules anymore when it comes to fashion? I think there are a few as to what is appropriate for age or body type, but the "wearing white" one is certainly a rule to be broken.  I have searched for a couple of years for a pair of white jeans that fit and finally found the answer in a pair from Loft. Since the search took so long, you can bet I'm not waiting until Memorial Day to start wearing them.

You saw this blouse a couple of days ago. I wore this outfit the same day. I just dressed down a bit for evening services.

I've got to point out a few details here that I love- the pleat on the back of the shirt. And the shoes- two trends in one. D'orsay flats with laser cut detail. Laser cuts and preforations are trendy this year again.

Have a great week! Linking here:
