Turning 40

Blazer/pants- Sears (similar); shirt- Limited (similar) (similar-(steal))
necklace- Groopdealz (similar)
Worn July 23, 2013

I turned 40 three weeks ago. To brighten myself up, I paired my turqouise bubble necklace with a coral/orange shirt. I left the rest conservative for work. To be honest, I didn't really need cheering up. I'm not sad over being 40- it's quite an accomplishment.

Casual capris

Cardigan- Target (similar); Tank/capris- Cato (similar);
shoes- Old Navy (similar); earrings- Limited
Worn July 28, 2013

I purchased this cardigan early in the summer or late spring with my mind set on finding some coral/orange capris or shorts. It never happened. But a few weeks ago I found this tank and capris on clearance and they work perfectly. The capris will go with many other pieces and can be dressed up or down.

Looking back at this now, I should have added a necklace. What kind would you have accessorized this with? I'd love to hear, please share in the comments.

When you're running late

Skirt- JCPenney; blouse- old (similar); cardigan- TJMaxx (similar)
Worn May 20, 2013

What do you wear when you are running late and didn't iron the night before? Easy, simple pieces that don't require ironing. I grabbed these pieces one morning when I was running late and threw them one. It's a classic outfit you can go to any time of year. If it's hot out, take the cardigan off, or wear it inside in your over air-conditioned office.

What are your "go to" pieces when you are running late?

Teal and grey

Blazer- Belk's (clearance) similar; pants- JCPenny;
blouse- old; shoes- Payless, bracelet- Target
Worn May 8, 2013

Ruched sleeve blazers? Love them or hate them? I like this one but I don't want every one that I own to have ruched sleeves. I got really frustrated this summer trying to shop for a white one and a navy one and all I could find was ruched sleeves. What are your thoughts?

One top- four ways

I'm a little late with my post for One piece Many ways but as soon as Audrey announced it I knew I wanted to participate. Since starting this little blog, I've mixed and remixed and remixed. That's one of the reasons I started this. My outfits before were boring little "uniforms" of one suit with one shirt for work and rarely worn any other way. Remixing back then was maybe wearing a different shirt with a suit. BORING!

I don't buy lots of clothes by some standards (but I'll admit my closet is overflowing) so remixing is critical to me not getting bored with my attire.

Here's how I've worn a striped sweater from Forever 21 (similar here).

Here a closer look at each outfit with links to the details:

Cobalt and yellow

Blazer- Forever 21 (similar but pricier);
blouse- TJMaxx; pants- TJMaxx
shoes/ necklace- Belk's

You've seen these pieces before but this is a new remix of them. I added a new accessory (the yellow necklace). It's amazing how an accessory or shoes even can make the same piece feel completely new again.

Red blazer, blue stripes

Blazer- Cato; Sweater- Forever21;
pants- Sears; shoes-old
earrings- Target
Worn May 9, 2013

I get a lot of wear out of this sweater, but this was the first time I paired it with the red blazer. Of course, I saw something on another blogger that made me realize I could do this. How would I ever get dressed without the internet, blogs, and Pinterest?
