How to wear plaid to the office- 9 to 5 Style

It's my favorite Monday of the month- 9 to 5 Style with Jennie at A Pocketful of Polka Dots. This month we chose plaid as our theme.

Plaid can be a little tricky for a conservative office like mine. Most plaid shirts would be frowned upon at my work, so I have to stick to skirts, pants and shirt dresses in a more traditional subtle pattern.

We took a little vacation in the mountains this week. I had visions of snuggling by a fire and drinking coffee while wrapped in a blanket all week. It didn't happen as the temps remained quite warm for the week.  It finally started to feel like fall the very last day, so I still have cozy things on my mind.  Express is having 40% off sale and Loft has sweaters and tops 40% off this weekend. As soon as fall and winter rolls around, I break out my camel blazer. Even though it's still quite warm, I didn't waste any time breaking it out this year.

I love pairing camel with grey, and I was really pleased with the pop of burgundy with this. You can get a lot of mileage out of a camel blazer, whether you work in a conservative office environment or a more relaxed environment. It's perfect with jeans and a top for fall. I highly recommend you add a camel blazer to your closet. This is my second one.

I recently added this A New Day scarf from Target to my collection. I had vowed not to add another scarf this year because it doesn't really get cold enough to wear them, but this one was a perfect match to the one on the GYPO shopping list and with the outfits, so I knew it would go perfectly with my existing outfits. It's also light enough to get away with wearing it in warmer temps if I keep it away from my neck, as I did here. (I can't find this exact one online so I've linked up some similar scarves below.)
