Back to school - Saturday shopping

The kiddos in our town started back to school this week, so I thought it would be fun to do a little back to school post. Remember- back to school doesn't just have to be about the kids. Many adults go back to school or work at this time of year and it's a great time for us nerds who just like office supplies or craft supplies to find a good deal on those things.

As much as I love color, sometimes it's nice to just tone it down and wear a monochrome neutral outfit. In this case, it's grey. I added a little soft color with a delicate bracelet stack that I made.

I don't have much to say today. I'm trying to get this out before I head to work. The week is catching up with me and I'm ready for the weekend.  The only thing new here is the necklace. I recently invested in three new long necklaces from JCrew Factory. I had pretty much worn the finish off the other two I was wearing. They were really inexpensive necklaces and I've gotten all the good out of them I can get. The same may happen to these necklaces if I keep them on repeat the way I have been and the way I did the others.

Now that the Nsale is over, we can all get back to summer. It's still here in full force, although it's cooled down to under 90 this week here. It's still summer and I still want to get some wear out of my summer items, like these Loft sailor shorts. I don't really need to see fall clothing yet, and I bet you don't either. We've got plenty of time for fall.

 

What I don't have time for is wrinkles. I'm in need of a good eye cream. Any suggestions? I have a bad habit of not wearing my sunglasses, but I really need to start. Even those quick trips in and out at lunch cause me to squint and I know that's just adding to the wrinkles. So back to eye cream. I've always been a drugstore brand girl for everything and I can't quite bring myself to spend what some of the higher end creams cost, but I'm looking for something that works better than what I currently use.  Do they really work? I'd like to know your thoughts and experiences.

 

I've read some good things about Kiehls with avocado and about La Mer, (but I'm not forking out $200 for eye cream) Strivectin rated well and so did Dermalogica age smart and Dermalogica Total eye care. Have you tried any of these?

How to have fun at work? Wear colored shoes! Well, maybe it won't make you have fun at work, but when the day gets long and tough, you can look down at your brightly colored feet and have a moment of happiness.

 

I was hesitant to purchase these coral pumps and I'm still very careful about how I wear them, but they go so well with this skirt. And even though this skirt is a little old now, I still love creating outfits with it and wearing it. And it has pockets!
