Stripes and wedges

I'm in love with this faux knot tee. I love this color combination and this tee is super soft and comfy.  It's still on sale and there are several colors. I also love how comfortable these wedges are. I think this is the third time you've seen them now- #sorrynotsorry. These wedges may become my new go to or at least a close second to my beige wedges.

Cobalt, chartreuse and a link up

I hope everyone got off to a good start this week. Today I'm sharing a recent work outfit that was a little out of my comfort zone. I decided that cobalt would pair nicely with chartreuse and black, even though there is absolutely no cobalt in this skirt. I love to play with colors and I really liked how this turned out. I used the shoes and the necklace to tie it all together. What color combinations have you tried our recently?

See how I've worn this skirt before - 4 ways here, here, and patterned mixed here

I'm also cohosting the Confident Twosday link up with Laura from I Do deClaire today. I love Laura's blog and the way she mixes thrifty with trendy pieces, all with a focus on what makes you feel confident. That's what I think fashion should be about- feeling good about what you wear, not just wearing something because it's the "in" thing. Be sure to follow her for some great outfit ideas.  I hope you will join us and link up below.

Hello and Happy Monday! No I'm not all that happy about it being Monday, but a long weekend is coming. I'm that person that gets dreadful on Sunday evening because it's over and I didn't get everything done over the weekend that I needed or wanted to do. But I can't change that, so I may as well embrace it for what it is- another week, a fresh start.

Let's start this one talking about summer work wear. I find it difficult to still look professional and stay appropriately dressed. Sleeveless items aren't allowed in my office and dresses and skirts don't always fit in with the activities of my day. And the AC inside can get somewhat cold. We've been having 100 degree days as well, so I really don't want to be in stuffy work wear. I've been pushing through it with lighter and brighter colors. This blazer is one of my favorites for summer. This blouse/shell is sleeveless so it works well with a blazer in the summer. That tends to be one of my tricks for summer work wear- sleeveless blouse under a blazer or cardigan.

How do you dress for work in the summer?

A little off

I searched for a bit for an embroidered top. It was on my "summer must have" list, but  I wanted sleeves. I finally found this split sleeve embroidered tunic and decided this was the one. I love how it pairs well with my new denim/navy wedges but I was disappointed when I realized it wasn't a true white. I really wanted a white on white look, but it wasn't until I got out in the natural daylight that I realized this is a little on the ivory side. Oh well... I still like the top and it will go well with blue denim or red bottoms.

Have you ever envisioned an outfit that turned out a little off when you finally put it together?
