Brights with camo

I'll have to admit that a camo skirt left me a little stumped on how to style it beyond black and chambray. But with a little pinterest inspiration, I've come up with a few more ways. One is to pair it with a bright colored top. I've been a little stuck on blue this summer, so I went with the cobalt knot tee. I've been so drawn to blue, I've even been wearing blue polish on my toes for a couple of weeks. You'd be surprised how well it goes with summer colors.

Happy Monday! No, I'm not usually this excited for Monday and I have a busy week ahead, so I'm just trying to psych myself up for it.

I've managed to get a little behind again on posts. I wore this Sunday a week ago. I expected to be hot in the sweater, but I survived.  I'd loved to have paired this with a different shoe, a light grey maybe, but I had to work with the closet I've got.

Here are two other ways I've worn this skirt. I think I've worn it more than this but I'm drawing a blank. It's one of my favorite skirts.

A sweet look for Valentine's

Some might say this qualifies as Valentine's date night attire. It does have  pink. I personally would never wear this on a date. I did wear it to church Sunday. I was challenging myself to find another way to wear this skirt since I've only worn it a couple of times. I was pleased with the results.

A statement skirt

Statement necklace, statement heels, statement piece- we are all about making a statement these days. How about a statement skirt? I fell in love with this skirt at the thrift store. I love the rich jewel tones. I've paired it here with a simple white button down and black fitted blazer based on inspiration from Glamour. The white button down is another piece that I am learing to work into my wardrobe. It's always been so boring to me, but it's a nice compliment to a show piece like this skirt.

When camo first came on the fashion scene, I said I would not wear it as a fashion item. Camo was for rednecks and deer hunters in my home town. Well, a sweet deal on a subdued grey camo skirt from Loft change my mind. I happened to be in one of their stores last month and it was on clearance with 40% off that- total= $16. So now I'm wearing camoflauge. Who knows? you may see me in my old green camo tee.

It's All Good

I really wanted to wear a more fall like sweatshirt version of this outfit, but with temps in the high 80's last week, that wasn't an option. If you're stuck in the southern states like me, maybe this will be a little inspiration to you. If you have cooler temps, add a denim or moto jacket. I think either one would be cute. At least I can be grateful for the opportunity to wear this tee I picked up on clearance just before I did the 30x30 challenge.

A slight chill

The temps actually dippped to low 50s last Sunday. The same day the high was in the 80s so the fall celebration was short lived. I got a bit tickled looking at all the ladies on the praise team at church in their tall boots. One of them was back to bare legs with a summer skirt and top for evening service. That's how fashion rolls in south Georgia.

I opted to celebrated the short lived cold snap by busting out a scarf and jacket. Layers that could be removed after lunch work best for me.

Shades of grey

Shirt- JCrew- thrifted option option

Grey is going to be very trendy this fall and that's okay with me. I've always loved grey as a neutral and grey dress pants are a work horse in my work wardrobe. On the casual side, I created this outfit with a skirt that I bought a couple of months back on sale ( I had wished for it since last year) and a grey stripe shirt I found while thrifting. With booties, it was the perfect fall outfit. The tee is a tissue tee so it's not too thick but the sleeves still knock off the early evening chill.

I almost talked myself out of getting the tee. I have a drawer full of long sleeve tees that rarely get worn. But... it was grey- check, stripes- check, JCREW- check and $4. I quickly talked myself back into getting it.

Two posts in one day? Well it is a holiday weekend, one made for relaxing so I'm taking a little more time for the blog today. And I couldn't let summer pass by without sharing this outfit. Seersucker is synonymous with summer for me. By the time I finish my 30x30 challenge that I'm starting tomorrow, most of you will be well into fall attire so I had to share this now.

Have you been shopping the Labor Day sales? I took advantage of some to add some graphic tees to my closet. I added this one about a month or so ago and I've had my eye on a few more.

If you are shopping the Labor Day sales, remember to join Ebates first. Then you'll earn some cash back from all those purchases and save even more.

I told you yesterday that I have been wearing white as much as possible lately. I'm sad that this may be the only time this season I wear this skirt. It's a new purchase that I got recently at a great deal. I've been wanting to add a white skirt to my wardrobe for quite some time, and finally did it. Even though it's late in the season, it will still be good for next year.

I've also been wanting some single strap hot pink sandals, but it took me a while to come up with enough ways that I'd wear them to justify the purchase. It also took some time to find a pair that I thought I'd actually wear the most. I think this type is beautiful, but I wouldn't get the most wear out of a pair of four inch dressy heels. I can't wear them to work, so they would be weekend only. This lower heel will work much better for me.  Thanks to Shanna for linking them up in one of her posts.
