Interjecting color

necklace- via Poshmark  option
earrings- old  option   option

I know that I said yesterday that I had been wearing a lot of greys but I did interject some color one day recently. I love a pop of color like this pink against an otherwise neutral outfit. Sometimes you just need to brighten up a day.

Are you still shopping for gifts or have you wrapped it up? If you still need ideas, then check out my gift guides page. I also suggest a pair of timeless 14K gold hoops for a lady of any age. I've had mine for around 20 years now and I reach for them over and over, especially when I'm wearing a statement necklace and just need a simple earring.

Stripes

Blouse- Nordstrom  option  option
pants- JCPenney
shoes- Ann Klein/ Belks (old)  option

This is a very simple outfit but simple is all you need with this much color. I  had a navy blazer with this for a work ceremony that morning but we had a more casual work event that afternoon, so the blazer came off and the sleeves got rolled. I left the blazer off for photos because I really wanted to show off this shirt. I purchased it during the Nsale but had to wait for the temps to drop to wear it because its a little heavier material. (It's sold out now. My pants are on clearance for less than $20!)

Speaking of Nordstrom, have you shopped the fall sale yet? Check out my picks here.

It's the red trousers again. I love having these in my closet. I paired them with this bow sweater. Remember when graphic sweaters, particularly bow sweaters, were all the rage? They are still here and I'm still wearing mine. I think this would make a great holiday outfit.

Ad inspired

Blazer- Belks  option
blouse- JCPenney  option  option  option
pants- Loft
belt- Target option
shoes- Belk similar

This outfit was inspired by an outfit on The Limited's website. Even though none of these pieces are from The Limited, they had similar pieces paired together on their website. I love it when I see an outfit that I like and already have the pieces to make it work. I've worn this top and pants together with a red cardigan before too. It's amazing how a color change and a few accessory changes can make a whole new outfit from two base pieces.

Are you guys ready for the weekend? for Halloween?

Power suit with edge

Blazer - Gap  option  option
pants- Gap  suit
blouse- Nordstrom  similar
belt- Target  option
necklace- Rocksbox  option
shoes- Ann Klein  similar

I wear this black suit a lot, but I hesitate to post it on the blog each time. How many times do you need to see the black power suit? It has its benefits- it's conservative, it's easy to throw on and go and almost anything goes with it. I decided to share it this time because I wanted to show you that you can add a little color and edge and still be professional.  I added this spike necklace and snakeskin belt. The blouse adds a pop of color.

Hope your week is going well.
