Lavender for Easter

Shirt- Liz Claiborne/ JCPenney  option
skirt- old option  total splurge
clutch- thrifted   option  option
shoes- Unlisted/Belk  option
worn April 5, 2015

I wore this for Easter church services and everyone  said you look so "Eastery". Is that a word and does it mean I look like an egg?

These pieces are not part of my capsule. The capsule is work only so weekends and church are free range. I do have a matching jacket for this skirt that made it into the capsule. This set taunts me. It's old (10+ years) but I can still wear it and love it hanging in the closet. I just never know how to wear it other than as a set with a white blouse. Boring to repeat. So the skirt has been salvaged from going to Goodwill by pairing it with this plaid pastel blouse I picked up last year when I realized I didn't have very many pastel shades or "spring" colors in my closet.

37 piece spring work capsule

I've finally narrowed down my choices for a spring work capsule. I've decided to give the capsule option a go from now until June 20. I started utilizing pieces in the capsule April 1. I've finally got the pieces together to show you. Boy, was it hard. I wanted to include so many but had to keep telling myself this is just for spring and there is still summer coming. I did not want to photograph each item so I've made sets of similar or the same item from the internet. My apologies to those of you who saw my strange polyvore posts. I don't use polyvore much so it was a learning curve for me.

On to the capsule: I am going to create my work outfits from 37 pieces for the aforementioned time frame. I decided not to include casual weekend pieces in my capsule because my weekend needs fluctuate so much. I may eventually get around to settling on another casual capsule but for now I'll just play with the work wear. I did not include shoes or accessories. Those are free range. My self imposed rules are that I can swap out two pieces at the end of thirty days if these just aren't working. I'm also allowing myself to utilize pieces not in the capsule on two occasions if necessary as long as one capsule item is still included in the outfit. Want to play along? Feel free to and let me know in the comments.

Just popping in to say Happy Easter and share an extra outfit from  a week ago. It has nothing to do with the capsule I'm working on. Last week when I wore the shirt and scarf with the suit, I came home and used those two pieces to change into a casual outfit for running errands and dinner. It was still chilly so the jacket came in handy. I was just complaining about not getting enough wear out of this white jacket, but for now, it's been saved.

blouse- JCrew via ebay  option  option
skirt- Limited (old)  option
shoes- Payless  option

I will shamelessly admit that I saw this blouse on another blogger and had to have it. I found it on ebay. Lucky me. Of course it has to go in the capsule, because it's new to me and I need to be wearing it since I HAD to HAVE it.

I really do like a combination of black, white and green. What are your favorite color combinations?

I'm still working through this capsule thing I asked about yesterday. I think I have decided to do a capsule from now until June 20. I have chosen 38 work wear pieces. I'm still coming up with casual items and what rules I will subject myself too. Are any you doing any challenges for Spring or even some Spring closet cleaning? Check out Merrick's closet clean out advice.

These are three more of the 38 items. I'll try to post the whole capsule of items in one post soon. Lemon yellow, or any form of yellow, is such a popular color this year. I'm glad I invested in this blouse last year. And I'm loving how it looks with grey and black.

Chartreuse and leopard

Blazer- Lord and Taylor  option  similar
blouse- JCPenney  option

shoes- DSW  option  option

A combination of chartreuse, navy, and white with a touch of leopard. Once again, this was inspired by an outfit I found on Pinterest.

I've touched on this before but I'd like some serious feedback. What do you think of 30x30 remixes or capsule wardrobes? My fall 30x30 got a good bit of response and interest, but I know some folks get bored with those sorts of things. I played with the idea of a winter capsule but didn't make a real commitment to it. I did create outfits from a core set of items through the winter but never listed them out or made a post of them. I think April would be a good month to do a Spring 30x30 but I have issues with just 30 items to take me through both work and casual weekend wear. I need a capsule of each type of clothing because my weekend wear can be so different from what's allowed at work. So I thought about just a 30 from 30 of work outfits, but that would take us through about 6 weeks. So then I decided that maybe I'd do a Spring Capsule April 1- June 20 that combines about 40-50 pieces of both casual and work wear. I said at the end of the 30x30 that I would not do this with any kind of commitment to a time frame, but I do like the challenge of coming up with new outfits. and I liked having them planned in advance. And I will not include shoes in my limited number of pieces. They are free range. My rules. What do you think? What would you like to see?

If I do this, then this is officially day 1 of my capsule because these pieces have made the list so far. And this is no April fool's joke. Seriously, what would you like to see here?

We had a bit of a cold snap this weekend and I woke up to temperatures of 37 degrees Sunday morning. I know many of you have been suffering far worse than that, but for south Georgia, that's cold. It forced me to come up with one more winter outfit so the boots came out. I previously tried to pull off this shirt and scarf combination with a blazer and pants but I think this works much better this way. You need to see the stripes to appreciate the pattern mix.
