This is one of my favorite work outfits. A co-worker commented that I was "bright and colorful." I quickly informed him that it was "color blocking".  He said he'd remember that so he could impress his wife when he saw this trend again. He said she was amazed when he recognized trends and such. Aren't we all when any man knows anything about fashion? LOL

I didn't wear this for the Fourth of July but I could have. I love a red, white and blue combo year round. I have always worn this dress with a cardigan over it, but I tried a t-shirt under it this time. Why didn't I think of that before?

I have shyed away from skinny jeans because I'm not skinny. I'm a rather curvy woman. And yes, I said woman, because I'm not that young anymore either. Nonetheless, this may be one of my favorite casual outfits. For $20, I took the plunge on the jeans and I'm pretty happy with these pics and this outfit.

A little more floral

I have embraced the floral trend this year in small doses, like with this top. This outfit also makes my first Forever 21 purchase. I don't live near one and was afraid to order because I wasn't sure about how sizing ran. I finally got the opportunity to shop in a town that has a store. Fun place! Not everything there is for me, but still a fun place.

Another first for me is the clutch I picked up on clearance at Target. Love it! The shoes were a clearance purchase from Belk's last year. I think this is one of my favorite outfits.

I've been baking cupcakes lately and when I looked at these pictures, I thought of icing,  hence the title.

I've always gotten compliments on this suit, but I've never been happy with it. I think it's because I was wearing it with a white shirt and black shoes. It just didn't work for me. The colored shirt and nude shoes are much better. And yes that is the same shirt I wore my my cobalt capris.

I was inspired by this set on polyvore (found via pinterest)  to combine the olive and navy in my closet. So glad I did. And I'd love to have those bracelets from Lulu's.
