An appropriate number

I've been itching to add some soft blush pink or rose quartz to my wardrobe. A peek into my closet reminded me that it was already there in this vest. I'm still looking for a blouse or a sweater in the color, but I decided to give the vest a go again.  I'll admit that the first time I styled this vest, I wasn't crazy about the results. Maybe it was the wider leg pants. I think it looks better this go around with the pencil pants, but I wish the tailor had taken it in just a bit more. I do like the look of the vest with stripes. (This shirt was last seen here, and looks totally different with the vest.)

So, what's an appropriate number of blog photos? I've visited this topic before but just read an article from a big blogger who suggested 10 or more, but not 30. 30- whoa! And even 10 is a bit much for me.  I'll admit I get bored with scrolling after about 5 photos, so I keep my photos to 3-5. Unless you are showing me a different detail in each photo, more photos just aren't necessary. Fellow bloggers, what is your comfort level for an appropriate number of photos per post?

It's all her fault

I know that many of you are plowing snow right now, so you're probably wondering why I'm in short sleeves. You see, it was 80 degrees everyday from Christmas to New Years and I wore this last week after picking the vest up from the tailor. It was perfect for the weather we were having. If I wear this vest this week, I'll be layering it over a turtleneck since it was 45 degrees this morning and is supposed to be 30 tomorrow.

And who's fault is it anyway? Rachelle at pink sole kept blogging about it this vest and the last time she did I noticed it was on major sale. It's one of those pieces I admire for a while yet it intimidates me as to how to style it, so I definitely won't pay full price for it. I ended up getting it for $7.41 after discounts and rewards, and even with a trip to a tailor (it runs large and sizes were limited by the time I made up my mind)  it's only a $17.41 investment. Rachelle also gave lots of ways to style it, so I took the plunge. If I can get past being intimidated, I know it will be a great work piece, because I pretty much have to wear an outer garment most days and sleeveless is much cooler.

I bought this vest a few years back before they were even popular and have struggled to style it and wear it. As long vests and sleeveless blazers  become more popular, it has become a little easier for me to style. Yet, I have several vests of all kinds in my closet and they are not my "go to" pieces. I do like them but just can't remember them or figure them out for me. I like how this outfit turned out. I think it's the color combination I like. I'm a burgundy/oxblood/marsala fan.

Do you have a certain piece of clothing you love but find it to be a challenge for you?

Three more pieces from my capsule. I think this is one of my favorite ways I've worn this white vest so far. It's in the capsule because it's a challenge to me. I love vests but freeze when it comes to styling them. Below are two other ways I've worn the vest.

Here is another look for the sleeveless blazer that I had to copy. This one I was able to turn into a work appropriate outfit by swapping jeans for trousers. Luckily the top was already in my closet and the vest gave it new life as it has not been worn in a while.

Sleeveless blazer or vest?

Which do you classify it as? Sleeveless blazer or vest? Either one works for me, but I picture a sleeveless blazer as a dressier item than some vests may be. Ironically, the look I love most for this garment I'm wearing with this outfit is a casual look with a tank and jeans. Too bad I can't wear that to work.
