A new favorite

This may just be a new favorite work outfit. It was comfortable, crisp and I felt professional but not stuffy or boring. Colors can still be professional even in a very conservative environment.

Just in case you are wondering, I did not wear mint two days in a row. But then again, what's wrong with that? Last Friday I posted the mint cardigan. My trip out of town has gotten my posts out of order because I was not able to take all of pics ahead of  time or during that week and still have a few things that have been worn that still need to be photographed. I also had some busy long days last week that didn't allow for pics but I managed to get this one in.

Here's a look back at the mint blazer worn last year with black and stripes:

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week.

Shades of green

A pencil skirt, cardigan and heels always looks business ready. It' such an easy formula to pull off. I decided to go a little monochrome on top with the blouse and cardigan. I would probably have never thought of this pairing if it had not been for isolating these pieces in my capsule.

I can't say enough about these shoes either. They are very affordable and most of all, COMFORTABLE. They are from the Payless comfort line. If you need a great shoe that goes with everything, don't think you have to spend a lot for it. These will be your go to. And if you're looking for a little more color, they are available in colors too! (And yes, that' an affiliate link up there. If you take my advice, I'll earn a little commission.)

The other half

I mentioned during this post that I had been breaking up the matching yellow blazer and skirt combination. This outfit gives the skirt a chance to be seen. I was inspired by a pairing of hot pink and yellow I saw on the Banana Republic site. I wore this to church and received several compliments, from male and female, young and old. I was a bit surprised by the people that complimented me. I usually don't bare my arms this way either but no one seemed to care, so I'm getting  a little braver with sleeveless items.

Pink and yellow

I'm a little obsessed with pink and yellow this summer. Just scroll though my pinterest board. I think this particular outfit pin inspired this outfit.  I really liked this one and felt good in it all day. So why is it when you create great outfit, the pictures turn out like crap? I promise these photos don't do this justice. You can barely tell but the blouse is a light lemon yellow. I loved it with the pink blazer and belt.

Loft ad

Blazer- Dorothy Perkins option option; blouse- JCPenney;
pants- Loft ; shoes- TJMaxx option option
bracelet- JCPenney
Worn Dec. 31, 2103

Loft had an ad for these pants along with a pleated red blouse and camel blazer online when they first came out with these pants. I purchased the pants and intended to purchase the blouse, but the blouse sold out before it went to a deal I would spring for. They also had a crystal necklace on the model but that necklace sold out too. Not to worry though, with enough patience I was able to recreate my own version in due time. While I was out Christmas shopping I saw this blouse at JCPenney. It was on sale plus I had a coupon so it became mine for around $4! I already had the blazer and a necklace, so my outfit was complete. And here's a tip for you, don't ever be afraid to ask the sales clerk to check the size on the display mannequin. I needed a small in this blouse and the one on the mannequin was the only on they had, but now it's mine.
