Another day of the layered hair cut.... I thought I was getting the hang of styling it, but it looked pretty pathetic by the end of the day. On the next washing after this, I could do nothing with it. I just couldn't wear it straight and I really don't have time for curling daily. Anyway, I'm sure you are tired of hearing me complain by now. Some of you left some nice comments on yesterdays post. Thanks. That was the day after the cut when I still had some of the salon styling going on. Once I washed it myself, it was all over.

At least I can always find happy shoes in my closet. I don't wear these much (last seen HERE and HERE, but pulled them out for an Instagram challenge on print mixing. I have to be careful about print mixing in a conservative office, but mine is relaxed enough to get away with some subtle mixing  once in a while. I doubt I'd wear this outfit to court, but I'd definitely wear the shoes to court with a solid outfit.

Boy, if you look at that list of shops above, you can tell I will shop just about anywhere and I'm not partial to anyone. I do have places I shop at more than others, but that's quite a list up there. I got this tee at the first of the year on clearance from Banana Republic. It was too cold for it then and I forgot about it. I finally pulled it out and styled it with this midi skirt. A graphic tee and a midi skirt always make a fun combination. I added a little more glam with the red clutch and leopard heels.

Hope you are having a great week!

Beachy waves

Blazer- Limited
blouse- Express   option      option
pants- Loft   option  option
belt- Belks   option  option
necklace Kendra Scott

This outfit was created out of a need for something that didn't need ironing and could get me out the door  quickly. I had already wasted too much time on hair. I was pretty sure that I had already worn something similar but I couldn't find it in my archives.  You can see five ways I've previously worn these pants here and a look back at the blouse here. I suppose this outfit would be another nod to fall.

My attempt to style the new haircut led to some accidental waves and curls, so I just went with it and created beachy waves all over. I actually got compliments on my hair this day. I attempted the waves two other days before I got my hair cut again, but they didn't turn out quite as well as they did this day. I have a lot of hair, thick hair. Curling or creating beachy waves takes a lot of time that I usually don't have in the mornings. I am NOT a morning person.

I guess all of the fall posts have gotten to me. I grabbed some fall looking pieces from my closet last week and put together this outfit. The light color pants and shoes acknowledge that it is still summer.

I hinted about a week ago that I had gotten a hair cut. Here it is, or at least version one. I got rid of the long angled pieces in front and my stylist cut some layers. I'm blessed with really thick hair and it gets so heavy at a certain point. We had hoped the layers would give it more movement and help with the weight. It was better but something about this cut was not quite right. I could not style it. After about ten frustrating days, I returned to the salon on Friday and got another cut. A cut I like and can style and get out the door in ten minutes with. That's the way I like it. So, bear with this week's post and then you can see the new haircut.

Fall transition pieces on sale

I'm beginning to give in to the fact that fall is coming. Actually, I'm dying for the cooler weather to come, but I know it will still be too warm here for full on boots, scarves and sweaters. Instead, fall for me means changing the color palette of my wardrobe and adding in some booties.  Here are ten pieces currently on sale that would be great for fall transitioning.  That cognac tote is reversible and could be flipped over for a new tote come spring.
