Saturday shopping

I had a different feature planned for this week's Saturday shopping but I couldn't resist all the great sales out there.

Ann Taylor is having 50% off fall must haves with code HELLOFALL
Loft is taking 40% off EVERTHING with code FALL40
Banana Republic is taking 60% off all sale items with code BRSALE

Here are some of my picks

Here are some more things you just can't go wrong with for a fall wardrobe that will be on trend yet wearable year after year:

Ponchos are still in and this stripe poncho sweater from Loft would be a great one to have. I mean it has stripes.

Tweed- always classic yet trendy. Check out this layered tweed shift at Ann Taylor.

Military jacket-   they keep coming back in one form or another. This one is a steal at Banana Republic right now.

Plaid is always in and this olive color utility shirt  is perfect for this season too.

Happy shopping!

Finally Friday and fall florals

It didn't seem like Friday would ever come this week. We have had too much going on and have been getting to bed much too late every night this week. We are running on fumes at this point.

You may be seeing a lot of this top this fall. I love how it has the rich colors of fall but could be worn in spring too with brights. It cools off a bit for fall here but not enough for sweaters and thick layers so thinner garments in fall colors are the way we do fall in the south. This is perfect and I think that paired with camel pants it has the fall feel to it. I accessorized with peach and gold chandelier earrings. There is just a bit of peach in this top too so the earrings play off that well. It's just so hard to capture that in photos.

Hope you have  a great weekend!

Yay or Nay?

I'm on the fence about whether or not I like these shoes with this outfit. I saw an outfit online pairing light colored beige shoes with grey pants and I liked it. I don't hate it in these pics but I was really self conscious of this all day and felt like my shoes didn't go with my outfit. So what do you say?  Yay or nay?

Believe it or not, this blazer is the same one from this post. The off color is the result of really crappy lighting and only five minutes of time to snap photos. I took them in the morning because I knew it would be dark when I returned that evening. What a difference lighting makes! The top is one of my Nordstrom anniversary sale purchases. This is the first time I've worn it. I've been holding out those purchases for closer to fall. Speaking of fall, it rolled in here with a low of 72 and a high of 80. At least it's not 90+, but it makes for creative fall dressing. No scarves or heavy layers yet.

That blue purse

It's another Bridgette Raes inspired look. Remember I said I may or may not have fallen in love with a necklace in this post and went on an ebay hunt for it? This is it. I had all the basic pieces to recreate these outfits but needed the accessories. I 'm on love with the necklace and this purse. I'm amazed at how much the purse goes with and the color is refreshing after years and years of brown and black bags. And fall or not, I'm sure you will see this necklace again.

Branching out

I branched out here with the colored shoes in this outfit, but not too far. I would have normally worn navy or black shoes with this outfit but I was drawn to Bridgette Raes' use of versions of red and green together, as seen here and here. Technically it's burgundy and teal, but my first response to this combination was fear of looking like a Christmas tree. I finally got over that and decided it would be far more interesting than would I would have normally done (black or navy) and tried it. And guess what? I like it.

Here's my safer version of this outfit worn over a year ago (ignore the horrible color cast of the photo)
