Coral and leopard

This blazer is part of a matching pants suit. While very functional, I find it very boring. I've worn the suit with all sorts of colors and printed tops, but no matter what I find it boring. So I separated it and paired the jacket with different pants and a blouse I've never worn with it. Oh the benefits of remixing. Stretching the wardrobe a little farther. Leopard heels and my new necklace add a little more interest.

How are your New Year's goals and resolutions coming? I didn't really set any but so far I'm in a good rhythm of keeping up with the blogging and getting a few things done in the evenings. There was a time when all I could muster was dinner and the dishes after work, but a new year has given me a new energy.

Camo and chambray

skirt- Loft  option  option

Even though I fought camo up until the minute I bought this skirt, I think it's here to stay for a while. What better to pair it with than a classic like chambray. I pretty much copied the Loft ad on this number. I know many of you are freezing right now, but I was able to bare my white legs at the very beginning of the year because it started with a heat wave. Our weather is a little schizophrenic.

Camel blazer- 9 ways

Camel is a super versatile color. It took me a while to decide to purchase this blazer because I had never ordered from Dorothy Perkins and I wasn't sure about the pique knit in a blazer. Obviously, it was a great choice over two years ago and it has served me well. Above are nine ways I've worn this blazer. Links to original posts are below, left to right.

Blinging in the New Year

Beanie- Nordstrom option option  option

sneakers- Macys option

So I'm a little late for "blinging" in the New Year since it's already been here for almost a week and half. Oh well, I'm always a little late to everything.

I got this beanie for Christmas from the hubby and I was on a mission after Christmas to wear everything I got, so this was perfect for our New Year's Eve. We chaperoned our church youth group lock in. I didn't stay all night, too old for that, but we did see in the new year with them. We painted their faces with zombie makeup and they had a zombie theme photo scavenger hunt. Did you know Jesus raised the dead?

Here's a peak at the makeup the hubby did for one of the other chaperones.

Camel and stripes

Blazer- Dorothy Perkins option option
shirt- Banana Republic option option
pants- JCPenney similar
shoes- Kenneth Cole Reaction via TJMaxx option option
necklace- gift  option option
Worn Dec. 30, 2014

I love the look of black and camel together. Add stripes and I like it even more. I was on a roll wearing all of the new accessories I got for Christmas last week. The necklace is a gift. It was given with another shorter necklace for layering but I liked the look of the single long strand better with this outfit.

Scarf necklace

Blouse- old option option

necklace- gift option  option
Worn Dec. 29, 2014

I know that scarf necklaces are not a super popular item but I received one for Christmas and I think they are kind of neat. Mine has some sparkle so I wore to the office last week. The week between Christmas and New Year's is a good time to get in those "sparkle" items as they still seem appropriate that week.

What's your take on a scarf necklace? In? Out?
