Blue and grey

Suit- Ross; shirt TJMaxx; booties- Sears
Worn: Sept. 17, 2012

I'm still not sure where I got the blue/grey combo inspiration from but I decided to pair the ruffle shirt with my pinstripe suit. The booties add a little fun to it.  I know blue/grey is nothing new or revolutionary, but remember I used to only wear certain items one way. This suit was worn with a purple shirt and this shirt was only worn with a navy suit. I've really come a long way in how I view my closet. Getting dressed is creative and fun, not just a necessity.

Pink Blazer again

Blazer- thrifted; shirt- old;
pants- JCPenney; shoes- Belk's
Worn: Sept. 7, 2012

Are you sick of it yet? This pink blazer. I wore it again in a pink, grey, black combo, except this time I switched the grey from top to bottom. I think by now I've gotten my $6.49 out of it.

Leopard headband

Cardigan, skirt- Belk's; shirt- TJMaxx
shoes- thrifted; bracelet- made by me
headband- Ulta

I could not resist this headband at Ulta. I left it at the store the first time I saw it, but a few days later I went back and got it.  You may have seen this outfit before, but not with the headband or shoes. Funny how a few minor things can change up an outfit, or at least make it feel fresh to you.

Have a great week. Linking up to Monday Mingle.

Denim and a maxi

Denim shirt (old); tank- Target; skirt- Goodwill
sandals- Target
Worn August 27, 2012

This thrifted skirt turned out to be a comfortable piece to wear. And I think denim just goes with a maxi, no matter what color.

Another take on the hot pink blazer

Blazer- thrifted; blouse/ pants- JCPenney
necklace-gift; shoes- Payless
Worn August 13, 2012

Continuing with the pinterest inspired looks... I was determined to get as much wear out of this pink blazer before summer ended as possible.

Here's the look that inspired my version

And yes, I pinned my bangs back again with a DIY vintage button bobby pin.

Thrifting blues

Blouse, skirt-thrifted; shoes- TJMaxx;
necklace, bracelet- Target
Worn Aug. 12, 2102

I tried a part/ half tuck with the blouse, not something I normally do. It was that or look rather matronly. This blouse is rather flowy so it didn't look right pulled in tight. Plus the skirt has an elastic waistband that needs to be hidden. Do you have any fashion tips or tricks?

Bangs and bobby pins

Top- Old Navy (Refashioned by me); shorts- Target
belt- thrifted;  shoes- Target
Worn August 10, 2012 (evening)

We went to a cookout at a friend's house and I wore this outfit. Looking back, I'll be finding a different belt to wear with it, and a different purple tshirt. I'v decided that Old Navy tshirts are not flattering on me - too thin, too shapeless, too long and they bunch and roll around the middle- Sorry Old Navy. I do have some tshirts that I like and I've discovered that the key is that it has a little spandex vs 100% cotton. At least I know what I'm shopping for now.

And as for the title of my post, my bangs were in need of a trim so I started pinning them to the side with a barrette or bobby pin.
