I wore this just before the 4th of July, but I don't really need a patriotic holiday to wear red, white, and blue. It's a color combination I love. I was trying out some bright red lipstick too. I  took this one back. I'm still searching for the perfect shade. Do you wear red lipstick? Do you have a tried and true perfect shade?

Inspired again

 

The outfit above was another People Style Watch outfit featured in their "look for less" series. I immediately went on a mad hunt for the pieces. I found their look for less shirt at Amazon, a similar tuxedo blazer at Charlotte Russe, and cobalt capris at TJMaxx.  Here's my version of the look:

I was seriously coveting a hot pink blazer and there was not one to be found any where around here. There wasn't anything I wanted to splurge for online either and the H&M one I kept seeing could not be purchased online. And then it happened. I found this one at my local Goodwill. I do believe there was a choir of angels around at that moment.

And for all my coveting, I didn't wear it for almost two months. I do have a slight excuse. There was a small stain on the shoulder that I wanted to get out first. I finally got it cleaned and this is the debut of the HOT.PINK.BLAZER.

Excuse the hair. I believe the wind was blowing when I took these pics and it was time for a trim. All of these pieces were new for the summer season. I decided it was time to add a little more color to the work wardrobe. Traditional conservative dress gets boring to me.

Don't you just love Target? I mean, groceries and cute clothes all at the same time. I recently got these flats for $12 and since it won't be fall here for a couple more months, I'm wearing them with shorts now.

I also got a shorter hair cut last week. I'm normally posting about a month or two behind, so you wouldn't have noticed, but I went ahead and posted these recent pics. The hubby loves it, but I'm not sure it's doing what I want it to yet.

Good morning! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Today's outfit is one I was inspired to put together by a "Look for Less" feature in the July issue of People Style Watch.

They featured this photo of Emmy Rossum and then put together a less expensive version of the outfit.

I went straight to my closet and put this together for free ( I made it work appropriate with the shoes and a blazer.)

This pintucked sleeveless blouse started out its life with a khaki suit. Since then it's been mixed with brown skirts, cardigans, black and now this rust color. It's been a great top.
