This cardigan was one of those items that I kept noticing and thinking about every time I went in the store. I finally gave in and bought it. I love it. I don't like for my cardigans to be too long or have too much bulk in the form of a waterfall because that tends to make me look shorter and chunkier but this one is a perfect length. It's also very soft and comfy. It goes perfectly with this necklace that I hunted down like a mad woman (it's long been discontinued but I went on a world wide web search after seeing it online). So what's not to love?

I've already worn this outfit once with navy pants and navy shoes, so I went with a heathered navy this time and nude shoes. I've got one more idea in mind for this cardigan too, and it doesn't involve navy.

I've worn this blazer/pants combo before with blue, but not with blue pinstripes. I can't remember adding this necklace to these pieces before but blue and coral are a fun combination in small does, so this makes my old faithful basics seem fresh.  Sometimes I think I just can't get any more out of my closet, and at other times, the options seem endless. I love it when the later is going on.

Baubles and bling

I really want to wear fall clothes but sometimes they just don't fit into a business attire wardrobe. The weather hasn't been cooperating the last couple of weeks either. So I dress for work and the temperature. Sometimes I push the envelope with the conservative environment I'm in by wearing things like this blingy bauble statement necklace. It's fun but the rest of the outfit is fairly conservative. To keep things from getting boring I'm going with color. Not exactly a fall outfit, but I was dressed for work. Once again, I took inspiration from Bridgette Raes for putting these colors together. (see outfit 3 in her post.)

I'm still infatuated with this purse and this necklace. I'm still using inspiration from Bridgette Raes  on how to use these pieces but doing my own mix and matching and substituting pants for the skirt.

I also find myself unintentionally carrying a water bottle or tumbler that matches or coordinates with my outfit. I don't do it intentionally. I drink only water or coffee and take a water bottle every day to work. I have blue, green, orange and pink and often find that the one I pull from the cabinet matches my outfit. I couldn't resist including my monogrammed Tervis tumbler in my photos when I realized how well it matched my outfit. If you need a gift idea for someone, these tumblers would make a great gift. Get a plain tumbler and have it monogrammed in your color choice and purchase a matching lid. Lids come in all colors.

Here's a look at a couple of looks from September with the purse and necklace:

Almost forgotten

If you don't have a pair of grey jeans, I recommend you add them to your closet now. I've had mine for three or so years and have been slow to get them in my casual wear rotation, but they really are versatile. They pair well with lots of items. I wore this outfit out to dinner a few weeks ago. It was already dark when I got ready, so ...indoor pics. I almost forgot to post this one.

I took inspiration for this outfit from Allison's at GYPO suggestion.

Let's not forget our veterans. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

Beat the heat

We got tempted with fall and then the high 80 temps came back. Ugh! So this is the best I can do to still feel like it's fall. I wore this outfit  to church Sunday and then to the funeral of a 32 year old woman who passed away that week. Her death was an utter tragedy and her family needs lots of prayers.

I feel like I've had lots of items on repeat lately. The mustard crossbody was on repeat for a week and now you are seeing these marsala shoes two days in a row. I do that sometimes. I get fixed on one color or item and it gets worn out until the next item gets my attention. Do you go through this?

Happy Halloween! Do you dress up? We do, always in spooky or scary attire, with lots of other roles players and hand out lots of candy. Candy is hard earned at our house, but it's so much fun! Here are a couple of peeks back at prior Halloweens:
