Just a quick little round up of some things that have made Instagram lately but won't be making the blog. It doesn't seem like we had much of a weekend. We made a trip to see my family for a belated birthday party and then the hubby had to work Sunday. And now July is gone...Hello August!  Not wishing my life away, but looking forward to another weekend.

Hope you have a great week!

That was a cheesy post title. This cardigan hasn't been worn in quite some time but it's a piece that I don't purge from my closet. I'm sure one day I'll decide to, but then again, I may find another way to mix it up and wear it again. Aren't you glad when you find those rarely worn pieces in your closet and give them new life?

I know we've all been going crazy over the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and fall items, but summer is definitely not over. We've got two or three more months to wear shorts here, and most of you have at least a good 4-6 weeks of shorts weather left, so here's a shorts outfit for you. You should definitely have a printed pair in your closet (love this gingham pair). There are lots of fun shorts and summer items going on sale and clearance now.

A printed pair of shorts can add interest to your summer wardrobe. I've paired mine with a bright top ( I did something similar last year here and here) and some bright jewelry.

I caved into peer pressure after seeing these shoes on other bloggers and on Instagram and bought a pair. I did wait until they were on sale. I can't find them online, but check your local Target. Once I gave in, I started wearing them on heavy rotation. You will be seeing a good bit of them in future posts.

Did you catch my Nordstrom sale purchases review?  I gave a run down of what I bought, what I'm keeping and what I'm returning on Saturday.

A little different

Dress- c/o ShoptheBYB

If you follow me here or on Instagram, then you probably recognize that this look is little different for me. I rarely wear anything like this because I'm super conscious of my round (chubby) arms and shoulders. I won this dress in an Instagram challenge sponsored by  ShoptheBYB and I promised Amy I'd blog about the dress. Now that I have received the dress, I can say  I'd be blogging about this little number even if I had not won it.

I had four choices and they were all so cute that I had a hard time choosing one, but I went with this So Chic dress. I love the embroidered hem. This dress is of high quality and it's lined. It's super comfy and cool. Perfect for a hot summer day or evening. I felt so good in it, I could get over my self consciousness of my arms and shoulders.

I dressed up the look a little with wedges, statement earrings and my new Kendra Scott Elisa necklace. This dress is super versatile and would be cute with flat sandals and a denim vest or jacket for a more casual look.

Head over to ShoptheBYB and check out their cute selection of tops, dresses, accessories and rompers. Use code SAVVY10 for 10% off your order. Shipping is FREE!

Stripes and knots

Have you blown your budget yet at the Nordstrom sale? I'm still looking and debating about whether or not to sign up for the debit card to go ahead and shop. I've got my eye on some bracelets. Last year I bought a couple of these tops. They easily switch from business to casual wear.

Speaking of bracelets, I made these on a whim one Friday night and I really didn't think I'd wear them much, but I've worn them several times now. Turns out these earthy tones coordinate with more in my wardrobe than I thought they would. While I had my beads and supplies out, I made this charm wrap bracelet.

I bought this tee in two colors. (Psst... it's still on sale.)  You have already seen the green and blue one. Grey is a favorite and I love grey with red, I love stripes, so what's not to love about grey stripes with red?

I hope you have a spectacular weekend! One more week and it will by my birthday weekend.

Currently I'm drinking... water, coffee, unsweet tea. Yes, I'm from the south and grew up on sweet tea, but I cut out all sweetened drinks about three years ago. I drink my coffee black, no sugar. How do you like your coffee and tea?
