How to wear potter's clay and burgundy

Remember my fall color series posts? You may be in love with some of these fall colors but wondering how to wear them. Many of these colors can be worn together just don't over do it.

Pumpkin spice and burgundy

FOREVER 21+ Floral Print Lace-Up Top • Forever 21 • $17.90
ABS by Allen Schwartz Hematite-Tone Burgundy Stone Drop Earrings • ABS by Allen Schwartz • $35
Nine West Metallic Tube Floppy Hat • Nine West • $39.99
Wit & Wisdom Button Front Denim Skirt (Nordstrom Exclusive) • $58
Steve Madden 'Palisade' Over the Knee Boot (Women) • Steve Madden • $179.95

Potter's clay (or pumpkin spice) works with rich shades of brown and blues. This outfit throws in some splashes of burgundy.

Pick a patterned item and you will probably find that you have a ready made color palette within that one item. Work with those colors for you other pieces or accessories.

All things fall

Denim, utility vest, grey tee, booties, leopard- those are all things fall for me. Scarves, sweaters and tall boots are "fantasy fall" where I live and sometimes even "fantasy winter" lol. So for my fall weather, I keep the layers light and the colors neutral to fall colored. I love these peep toe booties and have been on the hunt for a similar pair in black to add to my collection, maybe with a lower heel.

Thank goodness it's Friday! Who would have ever thought I'd say that on a week of vacation? It's our anniversary but instead of our usual vacation, we've spent the week cleaning up after Hermine and Matthew, those naughty boys. As I type, I'm waiting for the carpet installers to show up and install carpet. Then we can move furniture back into that room and hopefully by the end of the weekend the house will be back to normal and clutter free.

booties- JCP  similar  option
I bought this hat last year and never wore it. I love the color. I'm guessing you've figured that out by now- the last few posts here and on Instagram have been with burgundy or olive. Those have been my go to colors so far this fall. I decided it was time to put this hat to use. I've decided after evacuating for Hurricane Matthew that it's time to put lots of things to use or get rid of them. What's the point of possessions that just lay around and serve no purpose?
Last year I pretty much wore this outfit in a work  version- tunic, grey trousers, scarf. It was fun to wear the blouse and scarf in a more casual look.

I recently added two new pieces to my wardrobe that have been on a forever wish list- red trousers and an olive blouse that's appropriate for work. I have an olive shirt but it's more on the casual side.  I was perusing the clearance section at Target recently and came across this one. I've also updated the pants wardrobe and decided to add a red pair to the collection. I think they will be a lot of fun.

I don't know what was going on with these photos. My camera was having a hard time focusing. It was just a couple of days before Matthew rolled in and we were beginning to have a lot of wind and rain. The hubby speculated that because the bushes behind me were moving so much the camera didn't know what to focus on. I didn't take time to try manual focus because that's really difficult when you are using a remote. I have yet to have a chance to take photos again since I took these so I'm hoping my camera and lens are okay.
