A statement

Suit and shirt- Sears
necklace- Belk
shoes- Target
Worn: Work, Feb. 9, 2012

This is another one of my "go to" suits. It's all matchy matchy, but I change it up with different shirts and accessories. Sometimes all you need is a great statement necklace or large pendant.

Linking up with Monday Mingle.

A quick fix

Do you ever have trouble with that dreaded button down shirt gaping at the bustline? Speaking of button downs, I read at another site that the proper term is button front instead of button down. Button down is a man's button front shirt with a button down collar. Now that we know the proper terminology, let's address that problem. Trust me, it's not just a problem for large busted women- I have that problem too and I'd hardly say I'm large busted. And sometimes it's not just an ill fit. I have a shirt that otherwise fits fine, but gaps in the wrong place.

The fix

You can also use this to hold straps in place or fix hems temporarily.

What quick fashion fixes do you have? I'd love to hear.

Hope you have a great weekend.

The classic white shirt

Blouse, pants- JCPenney
cardigan- Old Navy (clearance)
scarf- thrift store
shoes- Life Stride via TJMaxx

I have never owned a classic white button down until this year, in spite of the fact that every fashion magazine and guru says it's one of the must  have items. Oh sure, I had a few pastel button downs in the 80's as a teen but I'm not counting that. And I have had button downs in other colors and patterns as an adult, but generally I find them boring and sometimes annoying to wear. Recently I've been giving them a second chance, and I finally invested in the "classic white" button down. My wardrobe should feel so complete now.

I tied the scarf in another one of the 25 ways (you must check out the video.) I used the turtleneck tie.
