Instead of throwing another list of things you should buy at you, today I'm going to tell you what I bought and what I think so far. Everything you see above has arrived at my door and I've tried it on and reviewed it. Sorry, no real life views of me trying on clothes. The lighting is poor where I have a full length mirror and too much other clutter would have been caught in the shots.
I love the plaid tunic, but sized down when I should have stuck true to size. Now my size is sold out in the olive. If you are not particular to the olive, grab one in any color if your size is available. It's flannel and definitely a wait until late fall/winter to wear item for me, but worth having when the time comes. It's super soft and comfy. Paired with leggings, it would be like wearing pajamas all day. Sadly, the x-small is snug across the bust and the bicep area of my arms. The rest of it would be fine, but I'm guessing a small or medium would work better and sizing of the rest of the body would not be that much bigger. It's something to wear on the loose fitting side.
The Treasure and Bond sleeveless blouse will be returned as well as the striped mock neck tank. The Treasure and Bond armholes were just too big for my comfort level (I like modest coverage) and the striped top didn't do this curvy girl any favors. I ordered the Pleione High Low mixed media in ivory and it's going back too. The knit back clung to my bootie too much and the overall quality didn't impress me at the sale price, much less the full price. I do like Pleione, but would stick to the split neck tops (which are not part of the anniversary sale but currently marked down). I bought some of these last year.
I also ordered the Halogen Pleat front V-neck top. It's knit and I ordered it in the blush and navy blue floral. I'm very picky about sleeveless tops and rarely wear low cut tanks or spaghetti strap blouses. I'm just too round for it. I found that the cut of this top offers great coverage and is flattering. It's a little too casual looking for work in a business professional environment, but you might be able to get away with a print under a suit jacket. I am in love with the Halogen tie neck. I ordered it in the navy-pink floral and wish it came in more colors. It's a keeper. It pairs well with the Halogen wrap front skirt. The skirt is at first thoughts a bit heavy, but still comfortable to wear and very flattering. And it has POCKETS! I'd recommend almost any Halogen skirt, as I also own a pencil skirt from the sale last year. They have a few others not part of the sale but on markdown that are great deals as well.
I'm in love with the Caslon Sweater vest but wish they would bring in more petite length vests. Those have apparently sold out. I'm probably going to keep mine and wear it as is. It's longer on me in regular length than as pictured on the model, but who says I have to wear it that length. I do watch length due to my petite height.
I spent a good bit of last fall looking for the perfect shade of olive jeans and never found them. I tried out the Kut Diana and SP Black pair in olive that I can't even find on the site now. I wore the Kut jeans the entire time I tried on blouses and the longer I wore them, the better I liked them. The shade is perfect. I will have to get them hemmed so I'm going to hold onto them a bit and see if anyone else releases an olive jean that I like in a better length. The SP Black pair will go back because they just didn't fit. They are not a curvy girl's jean.
The scarf has sold out. Don't fret. There will be lots of great dupes out this fall. I just went ahead and pulled the trigger because I wanted this color last fall and never got around to it.
The booties have sold out in the burgundy in most sizes. They are nice quality and fit me. I'm going to think about them for a bit too. It will be a while before I wear them and I might find a suitable pair at a lower price point. If you know you will get lots of wear from them and are comfortable with this price point, go ahead and get them since they are selling out so fast. I just don't get to wear my casual clothes as much, so I really think hard about purchases like this.
I forgot to picture it but I also ordered the Caslon peasant blouse. I ordered it Ivory Eggnog print and teal-orange. The ivory one is the keeper for me. I was skeptical about the color on the website but love it now that it's here. I can pair it with so many other colors. The teal will be returned. I also got the Leith striped shirt for work and can't find it on the website now, so I guess it sold out. It's a keeper too. Any button up that doesn't pull or bulge at the chest is a keeper.
I will be keeping the Alex and Ani bracelet in silver but probably not gold. The gold doesn't go with my other gold bracelets and was a little uncomfortable on my wrist. It didn't flex enough. My jewelry collection is missing shorter length necklaces so the Kendra Scott necklace in this length is perfect for me.
I hope you find my humble opinions helpful. If things are sold out, don't fret. Check the other markdowns. The Blank NYC moto jacket everyone raved over is mostly sold out, but there is a similar one on markdown (also only available in large but the point is, keep looking). I'd like a moto jacket but won't need it until clearance sales start, so I can wait. Happy Shopping!
