I certainly wore a lot of marsala/oxblood/burgundy last month, and I'm not apologizing for it. I couldn't help but get this patterned top when I saw the colors. I know I wore these shoes at least three times in close proximity. Again, no apologies. When I love it, it wear it.

So a week of daylight savings time has passed. It is totally wrecking my ability to take outfit photos. I have only managed to adjust my schedule once to be able to take photos before I leave in the morning. When I get home, it's dark. I did a little photo shoot last Saturday to catch up with what I wore last week, but I won't be able to do that every Saturday. How do you deal with the time change?

A little boho

Here's the outfit I envisioned when I first wore this blouse. I wore it as business attire here but was picturing it with something a little more "boho".  I think it works either way.

I meant for this to be last Friday's post but it didn't happen. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. I filled my house with smoke last Thursday morning while trying to microwave a sweet potato. I don't really know what happened. After about 10 minutes the thing was completely charred and on fire. The plate it was on cracked in half. I've never had this issue. I made sure to poke holes in the potato so it didn't explode, but still had an absolute mess. There as extra work with cleaning up the house and then I had to leave early Friday morning so there was no time for a post.

Here's to a better week!

Saturday shopping - Nordstrom fall clearance sale

Nordstrom is having their fall clearance sale. Here are my picks, all under $50!

The twill joggers are a great pair of pants to have in your wardrobe. See how I styled a similar pair here and here. Grab the Halogen side split sweater in red bloom and pair it with olive pants. See how well these colors work together here.

Get some of your Holiday Christmas gift shopping done. The Smashbox set or the Rebecca Minkoff earring jackets would both make great gifts. Speaking of gifts- these cashmere lined tech gloves would be an awesome gift.

Put together a holiday party look with these picks (the shawl comes in pink)

Sales are so much fun. Happy Shopping!

I'm still pleasantly surprised at how many options I have for this plum skirt. This blouse should have been the first thing that came to mind but it wasn't until I hung it in the closet that I realized this blouse would be the perfect partner for this skirt.

Notice something different? I'm wearing nail polish. I haven't done this in years. I keep my toes nails polished but stopped with my finger nails years ago. I never have time for it or time to wait for it to dry before I'm doing something with my hands. But... I recently became infatuated with grey nails for fall and for the last two weeks I've kept my nails done with this bluish grey color from Revlon. The hubby even thinks this is a pretty color.  (I paint them while I'm watching The Walking Dead on Sunday nights. I dunk them in ice water to set and then go straight to bed after the show. So far, no smudges or dents.)

This outfit is very similar to this one. It's the same two base pieces- navy blazer and camel pants. However, the shoes, blouse and accessories are different. I used an oxblood top and mustard bag to bring in more fall colors. I went with leopard flats. Leopard really goes with anything but I love it with fall colors best. Speaking of the flats- I have a love/hate relationship with flats. If they are dressy enough for work, then they usually don't look right with casual clothes. On the other hand, if like these, they work with casual, then they don't work with business attire. These ballet flats are a little more interesting than some, but after seeing these photos, I don't think they work with this outfit.

Anyone have any suggestions on a flat shoe that is more versatile?
