I'm not sure why I waited to style this top until now. It was an Nsale purchase and I guess in my mind I thought I had to wait until closer to fall. I love the fall print and colors in this, but it's still not quite time/ cool enough to pull out the olive jeans or burgundy jeans and the sweater vest. You bet when it is, I'll be wearing this top with those items. For now, I'm relying on my trusty boyfriend shorts and rose gold sandals. You've seen these pieces on major repeat this summer. I'm not sorry either. If you learn one thing from me, it's how to mix and remix and wear the same items.

 

Who is also itching to decorate their home for fall? I used to love to decorate each season and holiday, but this past year I put out some neutral items and pretty much left them there all year. Fall transition pieces on sale

I'm beginning to give in to the fact that fall is coming. Actually, I'm dying for the cooler weather to come, but I know it will still be too warm here for full on boots, scarves and sweaters. There is always a sale going on, right? There are certainly a few right now that are worth looking at, especially if you are into the "summer to fall transitions" right now. Ya'll I'm having a hard time with that. It is so blooming hot right now that I just can't think about fall, sweaters, jeans, or scarves. I tried on some things in Old Navy yesterday and sweated profusely the entire time. I also don't want to push fall purchases on you right now because there will be more latest and greatest out by the time you can wear them. Nonetheless, it's something to think about, so I've rounded up some under $50 finds with an eye towards wearing now and in the fall.

Banana Republic is having 40% off all sale, so that layered top will be even less than the price above. It can be worn now or under a cardigan or moto jacket later.

Old Navy is having a good in store sale and 30% off online right now (ends today). I tried on the Rockstar jeans yesterday in the olive color and will be wearing them around the house some to see if I keep or return them. The long open cardigan is a great option if you missed the BP cardigans during the Nsale.

Loft is currently having a 50% off sale items sale. Now is a great time to get some great end of summer deals on shorts. Wear them into fall with a loose sweater or denim jacket. Loft has their modest 6 in length Riviera shorts available for $19.99 with extra 50% off at checkout. $10 for shorts- yes please! Hurry though, there are limited sizes and colors. Grab a cardigan for the cooler evenings too.

Tassels and pom poms were trendy accessory items this summer, so I'm late to the party with mine. But let me justify. I came across this scarf on clearance ($3.99) recently and the jewel tones screamed fall to me. It's still too hot for traditional scarves so this light number is perfect. It adds some much needed color to this dress. The suede booties indicate I'm ready for fall, so I think this works great as a summer to fall transition outfit. I picked up these booties last year at TJMaxx while searching for some cognac booties. These are a long  way from cognac but were too adorable for me to pass up. I can't find any quite like them now, so I've linked up some suede wedge choices for you and some cut out ankle booties.

 

Let's talk about this dress too. There was a time when I would have only worn something like this just one way, the way it is and would not have recommended it as a must have. However, I've created so many different looks with this that I'll now say a chambray or denim dress is a must have. It's like a blank palette waiting for you to create with. It goes season to season. You can take this piece right into winter with a utility jacket, tights or leggings and boots, like I did here.
