I love it when fall and winter present the opportunity to wear rich, vibrant jewel tones. They are not my go to colors, but I do like them for mixing things up once in a while. I ordered this skirt during the Nordstrom anniversary sale. It's a nice thick skirt with the perfect amount of stretch. I was hesitant about the color but I have lots of things in my closet to pair it with so I kept it. This paring was a little bit of a wild card pairing and a little out of my comfort zone, but I liked the end result. The leopard shoes and tortoise necklace and watch subtly tie it together.

Okay, even though I said a few weeks ago that I was not letting go of summer, you guys got to me and I started adding a few fall vibes to my outfits. Here I went with a non-seasonal look and added a statement necklace with fall colors.  I just put in place a GYPO work wear challenge 2014 formula of bright top+ black pants+ leopard shoes+ statement necklace. That's easy dressing. Pick any color and it works.

Black and white grid

This is the last of the black and white outfits. I've paired lots of bright colored tops with this skirt before, and even a black sweater, but this is a first for the black utility top. Leopard heels break up the boredom a little.

I hope you have enjoyed black and white week. Would you try an every day wardrobe of just black and white?

Sometimes you need a grab and go option for work that still looks professional and like you put some effort into it. That's when a matching suit comes in handy. I paired my black suit with the chartreuse top and leopard accents. I purposely put the matching suit in my capsule because I knew there would be days like this one where I didn't want to spend energy on creating an outfit. Fun accessories keep it from being boring.

It's 2015! I'm still posting outfits from 2014 so not much has changed. I'm still running behind. Even though I wore this as my Christmas eve outfit for work and for a church service that evening, it's neutral enough to wear year round. I was inspired by this outfit to pair these pieces together. Sometimes I overlook the simplest and most obvious outfit choices. Thank goodness for pinterest and all of you who provide inspiration for me. I didn't go with the pearl necklace like the inpiration photo because I've had the Kimberly knock-off on repeat. I'm loving this necklace right now.

Mustard top- 3 ways

                                   1                                2                         3

I love how mustard plays so well with jewel tones and fall and winter colors. Above are three ways I've worn this knit mustard top. Below is the last way that I wore it. I happened to have the blouse next to the teal blazer in the closet for some reason or other and loved how the two looked together, so a new outfit was born.

Excuse the photos below. I have a new camera and I tried the auto and tungsten white balance and both are awful inside my house. I did some very rudimentary editing. Total color correction was changing the color of the blazer too much so I only corrected the door back to white.  I guess I need to set a custom white balance for my house. Those grey pants are the same in one and three above but look almost brown in the third photo thanks to the color cast indoors. And yes, the sidelights in my door look weird, but the Christmas lighs outside are having an effect.

Today's post is going up late because the dog vomitted in her kennel overnight. That was fun to wake up to. My morning time before work was spent giving the dog a sponge bath that didn't help much so she just got another full bath. Bella smells good now.

Leopard and black #30

Blazer- old option option

It's the final outfit of the 30x30! hoorah! This has been a great learning experience and has refueled the creativity, but I'm ready to move on and wear some different pieces. This last outfit is pretty basic- all neutrals, but the leopard has a little punch too it and a colorful statement necklace keep it from being too bland. The necklace is a recent sale purchase.

I'll being doing a recap of my 30x30 in a separate post so please check back.
