Last week I talked about how to wear colored denim. Today I'm going to tell you about the most versatile colored jeans- olive jeans.

Olive jeans are colored jeans, because they are not "blue" jeans. (Duh) That' pretty obvious, huh? Olive is pretty much accepted as a neutral now days and for all season. Up until last year, I held it out as a fall item, but it's really so versatile for all seasons. Olive can be worn like blue or black or grey or any other neutral; therefore, a pair of olive jeans is the most versatile colored denim you can own. If you are not ready to jump out and rock a coral pair or a pink pair, but want something other than the standard blue jean to change it up a bit, go for olive.
Fit tip: Don't size up in the Old Navy Rockstar or any with a similar fabric content of 67% cotton/21% polyester/2% spandex. They stretch out a lot. I wish I had not sized up. After a few hours of wear they stretch out and I spend the day hiking them up. I've been throwing them in the dryer to shrink them. ( I otherwise hang denim to dry.) Wear them around the house a few hours with the tag on to see if you have your correct fit.

Audrey at Putting Me Together published 15 ways to wear olive jeans three years ago, and then came back last year with 8 more ways to wear them for spring. You can find another 10+ ways I've worn them on my blog.
I loved the way this outfit turned out. It's another one created from the prompts in the GYPO Spring Capsule. It's not the exact outfit in the capsule because I didn't get the tee or the shoes listed, but made it my own with these pieces that are already in my closet. If you need some inspiration for new ways to wear what's in your closet, I highly recommend you get a copy of Closet Staples Casual Capsule Wardrobe Builder or The Big Book of Outfit Formulas. I bet you already have many of the basics in your closet.
Are you into the cardigan duster trend? Cents of Style has theirs $10 off today with code CARDI10 (+ free shipping). That makes them $19.95!
